Orlando is a great sports town and a tremendous partner. We’re excited to grow our relationship and the @jaguars fan base in 2027. Let’s bring that #DUUUVAL state of mind to our friends in Orange County and then open that big beautiful stadium of the future as we welcome the team home in 2028!

I promised @MayorDeegan that Orlando will be a welcoming host for fans from Jacksonville when the @Jaguars play here in 2027. And that the fans in our city are ready to pack @CWStadium and give the Jaguars a home field advantage.

Today, members of OPD's Communications Division participated in the Lake Nona High School Career Expo to speak to students and their parents about careers as Emergency Communication Specialists (ECS).   ECSs are vital to the success of our officers and serve as the backbone supporting OPD’s sworn personnel.   If you’re interested in serving your community as an Emergency Communications Specialist, visit: orlando.gov/Public-Safety/…

When they returned home after serving during the Vietnam War, some veterans were not warmly welcomed back. If you have Vietnam veterans in your life, today - National Vietnam War Veterans Day - is a great day to thank them and let them know that their service is appreciated.

Meet the Nutty Buddy Toast - Mayor Buddy Dyer approved!  Mayor stopped by Great Harvest Bakery & got a taste of the Nutty Buddy Toast. Peanut butter, banana, honey, & candied bacon on Dakota bread. And Mayor said it best, "everything is better with bacon on it!" 😋

Today, the Orlando Police Department, along with Mayor Buddy Dyer and Commissioner Tom Keen, joined Neighborhood Watch leaders to recognize Storey Park as the 2025 Neighborhood Watch Group of the Year with an official sign unveiling. Their commitment to staying connected, informed, and engaged shows how strong partnerships between neighbors and police help keep Orlando safe. Through partnerships with communities like Storey Park, OPD continues to make meaningful progress, helping drive historic lows in crime across the city.

HAPPENING TOMORROW ! The Orlando VA Health Care System (OVAHCS) will host a Vietnam War Veterans Day ceremony on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 10 a.m. at the Orlando VA Medical Center Amphitheatre. The event is open to the public and will honor the service and sacrifice of Vietnam War Veterans. The ceremony will bring together Veterans, community leaders, and supporters to recognize those who served during the Vietnam War and to thank them for their dedication to the nation. “We are proud to honor the courage and sacrifice of our Vietnam Veterans,” said Timothy J. Cooke, director and CEO of the Orlando VA Healthcare System. “This ceremony is an opportunity for our community to come together, reflect on their service, and ensure that the men and women who served during the Vietnam War receive the recognition and gratitude they deserve.” The event is held in collaboration with the Orange County Mayor’s Veterans Advisory Council, the Central Florida Veterans Memorial Park Foundation, and the Vietnam Unforgettable Memories Foundation. During the ceremony, Jerry L. Demings, mayor of Orange County, Florida, will present a proclamation honoring Vietnam Veterans. The keynote address will be delivered by Col. DeLoyd “De” Voorhees. A U.S. Army retiree and president of the Central Florida Veterans Memorial Park Foundation, Voorhees has been a strong advocate for honoring and preserving the legacy of Veterans throughout Central Florida and remains an important voice within the local Veteran community. Parking will be available in the east and west parking garages and in the south parking lot near the emergency room. Attendees are asked to refrain from parking in the Community Living Center and Domiciliary parking lots. Golf cart shuttles will be available to assist guests to and from the ground floor of the parking garages. Those interested in attending are encouraged to RSVP here: ow.ly/LU6v50Yz8sq Directions to the event: ow.ly/w0gG50Yz8so
