UPDATE 6:38PM: Roadways are back open.

📍North Nova Road is partially closed from Wilmette Avenue to Sterthaus Drive due to a major crash with injuries. ⚠️ One lane is open in both northbound and southbound directions. Please avoid the area if possible, expect delays, and use caution while traveling.

Last night at approx 8PM, OBFD crews, VCFR and law enforcement, responded to a car accident on Fleming and Carolina Ave involving two vehicles, a pedestrian, and a Votran bus. Two patients were transported with non-life-threatening injuries. Please remain alert on the road.

❄️ Cold Weather Alert for Volusia County ❄️ The National Weather Service in Melbourne has issued a Cold Weather Advisory for Volusia County from 1 a.m. to 9 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31. A Freeze Watch is also in effect for inland areas during the same time frame.

Today, we were honored to celebrate Mr. John Jeckovich’s 100th birthday— a World War II veteran and Ormond resident!
 He fought at the Battle of the Bulge, where he endured unimaginable hardship. He helped liberate thousands of POWs and Holocaust prisoners in Nazi Germany.

🚨 Traffic Alert 🚨 I-95 southbound is closed near mile markers 273–274 (U.S. 1 exit) due to a multi-vehicle crash. One person has been transported as a trauma alert; others sustained minor injuries. ⚠️ Expect major delays — traffic is backed up past Old Dixie Highway.

OBFD responded to a structure fire at 7:41AM today (Monday) at 195 S. Halifax Dr. Both occupants outside residence upon arrival. 1 person transported to hospital for smoke inhalations & burns. Fire reported to originate in a back bedroom. Units: E91, E92, Q93, E3, Batt90, FM90
