I’ve seen some things on the TL blaming Rawlings for “selling” all of Nkrumah’s factories? The people that Overthrew Nkrumah are those saying it? I entreat everyone to read Dark Days in Ghana…and try to find “Voice from Conakry” online listen. Nkrumah knew the people he was dealing with! That’s why he wrote a book about what they were doing Ghana.. He knows these people will one day lie about what they did after Nkrumah. Let every Ghanaian know that all Nkrumah's factories and hotels were sold and privatized by JJ Rawlings. He even sold some to his wife. Rawlings is the reason why Ghana is battling industrialization today. He killed our industrialization drive in the decade where our colleagues like South Korea, Malaysia and Singapore were expanding their manufacturing sectors to strengthen their economies.

Kufuor was lucky the internet was not widely available in Ghana then. Former President Kufuor marked Ghana’s 50th Independence Day in 2007, with government reportedly spending over $20 million. 18 years later, President Mahama held the 68th Independence Day for about GH¢1.5 million, roughly $150,000 then. That is about a 95% reduction compared to the previous NPP administration’s spending on the same event in Koforidua.
