That’s why they went out and got Shane Baz. Thats why they traded away that much prospect capital for a guy with a 4.87 ERA last year. Because ERA doesn’t properly represent a pitchers skill.

I know a lot of you are frustrated about their treatment of Albert Suarez but I promise he's not the solution long term. He's been great the past years but the stuff is just not there to keep putting away hitters.

The results haven't been there but Anthony Nunez is going to be a stud. 3.13 xFIP so far. the stuff is there. he has 4 plus pitch shapes when most relievers only have 1 or 2. Once the command comes around he's going to be a staple in this bullpen.

@realbenmcdonald @jcalvinmeyer The point is, these guys are going up there with the goal of hitting the ball really hard in the air, because that gives them the highest chance of scoring runs and getting hits. It’s saying that they’re just hitting it right at the outfielders, which you can’t exactly control.

The Orioles had 11 hard-hit balls (95+ mph exit velo) in tonight's loss. They went 2-for-11 on them, including outs on the following: - A Jackson Holliday lineout with an xBA of .840 - A Blaze Alexander lineout with an xBA of .760 - A Pete Alonso groundout with an xBA of .620

Craig Albernaz on the Orioles’ offense tonight: “Forgive me for saying this, but we hit a lot of balls hard tonight, you know, on the barrel. That’s all you can do is try to get barrel to baseball and see what happens, and our guys put a lot of good swings on the ball tonight.”

Akin long term is the better option, he’s just ran into some bad luck, that’s why you see Alby still using him in high leverage spots. His 4.35 xFIP and 3.95 SIERA is actually better than last year when he had a 3.41 ERA. Another reason why ERA is not the best stat.

@ZFARM_ Enns xFIP is at 5.51 while Akins is at 4.35 Long term Akin is the better option

Keegan Akin and Andrew Kittredge will likely be the first guys up in the pen tomorrow. Need them to both bear down if we want to win the series.

@benjpalmer @PigTownSports What I want to see is maybe adjust his 4S to be a hard-ish cutter in the 90 mph range. I believe he would be able to shape a pretty good cutter with his arm slot. That should create more separation between the two.

@PigTownSports Honestly I’d like to see him throw the sinker even less (or at least keep it roughly the same). It’s graded out by our metrics to be the worst pitch in his arsenal so far, and that slider and curve look fantastic

Kyle Bradish ranks 85th among pitchers to throw fastballs with 2 strikes this season 4/2 seams combined (Min 500 pitches total) He’s thrown just 108 fastballs with 2 strikes this season Curv is great but would you like to see more heaters ?

Hey guys, sometimes the opposing pitcher just has a solid day and you gotta tip your cap. Gotta remember this guy is a perennial cy-young contender here.

So shortening up and putting the ball in play is not the answer. Only 3 Ks for McClanahan but 3 hits and 0 ER.

Everyone is free to feel however they want about day to day lineups but I don’t really think they matter for 2 reasons 1. They have their own reasons and strategies that we’ll never know 2. One guy being in/not in the lineup likely won’t affect the way the entire game goes.

I believe we should try the standing ovation method with Tyler O’Neil like what Phillies fans did with Trea Turner a while back We can’t control what the front office does with him but we can’t try and make a positive impact on his confidence.

Last year Tyler O’Neil was ranked 3rd on the team in xwOBA at .360 only behind Ryan O’hearn and Ramon Laureano

@PigTownSports He hit the ball really well in 2025 despite what the results were. He only has 100 PAs this year in scattered appearances so it’s been tough for him to get going.
