As someone who has mostly been listening to classical music for the last 3 years, this seems really culturally significant to me. It feels like a deep breath for popular American songwriting. A return to form that looks past the many atrocities that befell country music.

So when I say her image is male centered this is what I’m talking about. No shade to her but men shouldn’t be so comfortable using a woman as a gotcha for other women. It’s inherently my biggest issue with “Ella Fellas.” It perpetuates this. I don’t think Ella herself is though.

@DynaA938545 All her music is about female experiences. I really don’t think it’s Ella as much as it is everything surrounding her. If that makes sense.

Ella and her music aren’t male centered. Her image is though. And it’s probably why she’s so successful at the moment. But I fear for when the men start to turn on her, because she doesn’t deserve that shit. It only takes one thing she says or does to make them all turn.
