🇺🇬𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 𝘁𝗼 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺: 𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝗨𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮'𝘀 𝗔𝗜 𝗖𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘂𝗺 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗲? In partnership with @Educ_SportsUg, we worked with tutors at the 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗧𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀’ 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲, 𝗠𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗴𝗼, to begin integrating 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗔𝗜 into Uganda’s Competency-Based Curriculum. The focus was on empowering the trainers who shape the nation’s future health heroes. This partnership went beyond introducing a new tool. We focused on laying the foundation for 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝗜—systems that can work alongside people to tackle real local challenges in health, agriculture, and beyond. By starting with tutors, knowledge and practice can spread naturally across the education system rather than remaining confined to isolated pilots. Our work identifies systemic barriers to scaling this effort across the Uganda 1. 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗿𝘀: Deficits in foundational digital infrastructure and sustainable funding models. 2. 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆: Gaps in technical proficiency among educators and strategic leadership to guide integration. 3. 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: The challenge of translating technical knowledge into altered pedagogical workflows and addressing attendant ethical considerations. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗶𝗺 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀. Chief Executive Officer 𝗠𝗿. 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗔𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆𝗶𝗿𝗲 and Executive Director 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗚𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗮. We demonstrated how Otic Group’s secure agentic AI systems, already deployed across corporate institutions in Uganda, are operating within regulated enterprise environments through the @Microsoft Marketplace. Built on Microsoft Azure with 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴, Otic’s agents secure data at rest, in transit, and even while in use. 𝗨𝗻𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗿𝘆𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗱, 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴. The single biggest unspoken question in any regulated boardroom is fear: 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹? The answer is yes. We have already deployed agentic credit intelligence within regulated environments in Uganda. These systems do not operate outside guardrails; the guardrails define their reasoning. Compliance is not an overlay. It is embedded in the way decisions are made. What appears to be a technological leap is, in reality, a governance design challenge. When properly architected, Agentic AI delivers tighter control, stronger auditability, and greater accountability than many legacy systems in operation today. The strategic question is no longer whether this is possible, but how quickly institutions can design the governance frameworks required to adopt it responsibly and competitively.

We sat with the Managing Director, Abdulaziz M.A. Mansur, and senior leadership of @TropicalBankUG to discuss what it truly means to deploy Agentic AI inside one of the most regulated environments in finance. 𝗪𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗻’𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗮 𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲. 𝗪𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗮 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲. After diving deep into the 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝗜 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 with @IraUganda, it went far beyond certification. What mattered most? The hours spent getting practical. No theory for theory’s sake. We rolled up our sleeves and worked through how AI fits into supervision, regulatory sandboxing, and the daily reality of decision-making. That kind of work doesn’t make headlines. But it’s what shapes how a market evolves quietly and steadily, where it counts. So here’s to the 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗨𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮. It amplifies what already exists. Strong governance scales. Weak governance gets exposed. That is why we built three execution assets, not three PowerPoints. It is the 𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗰 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗘𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮. Markets like this are not captured by effort alone. They are captured by those who move first with intelligence and governance. Recently, we delivered an 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝗜 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 the @IraUganda, convening the AI Committee overseeing the regulatory sandbox, ensuring oversight is directly part of experimentation. Agentic AI changes how risk is understood, priced, and controlled. It reshapes pricing, fraud detection, and last mile inclusion. Without governance, it will amplify the very asymmetries the sector is trying to solve, creating risks boards cannot afford to ignore. Beyond conversation, we built three execution assets: ◾𝗔𝗻 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝗜 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸: a governance blueprint that positions AI as a strategic asset across insurers, reinsurers, and intermediaries. ◾𝗔 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻: translating AI from concept into execution by embedding it into licensing, supervision, and market conduct. ◾𝗦𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗯𝗼𝘅 𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: a structured pathway from controlled testing to scaled deployment, with continuous feedback shaping smarter policy. The regulator has laid the foundation. Now execution is everything. The first companies to act will not just compete, they will define the market.
