I’m a clinical psychologist and have been for about 30 years. Would I see happening with the so-called “men“ in the Republican Party is that they have projected their own insecurity as men and they identify with the aggressor a.k.a. Trump in the same way that cowards on the playground follow behind the big bully. I think Republican men have lost their way and know of no other way to feel like “men” unless they are bullying or actively supporting a bully. Think about who supports bullies when we are children. They are not the strongest kids on the playground. They are the weakest, and that’s what the men of the Republican Party are advertising themselves as today.

Are there any psychologists or psychiatrists who can explain what has happened to the so-called "men" in the Republican party 🤷 there has to be some kind of mental illness that makes them idolize a demented pedophile in makeup and diapers 🤷

In other words, all Vance can do is counterpose the Iran conflagration with some hypothetical long-term outcome that evokes Iraq and Afghanistan. Beyond that, he gives no real defense on the merits of Trump randomly deciding to trigger a huge regional war in the Middle East -- of unknown parameters and escalation potential, and with few consistent objectives anyone can discern, aside from whatever's bouncing around inside Trump's addled brain on any given day. Also notable is that Vance echoes Trump in saying it's a good thing Joe Kent resigned -- meaning no war-related dissent is currently tolerated in the administration. And that's how it should be, Vance says.

Dear Christian, You don’t have to tell people what your religious beliefs are. They see exactly what your religious beliefs are in the way you talk about women, immigrants, people of color, the poor, those with disabilities, victims of war, and your political opponents.
