Reason #892 why people should stop asking random disabled people if they will ever be a Paralympian, and instead look into all the cool sports they have and learn about them 😎

For example, when I was a wheelchair user I play(ed) wheelchair basketball, and still do when I can, but I do not have a classifiable disability. I can still play, but not in most leagues (if any now, it’s been a while).

Friendly reminder that not all disabled people are “allowed” to compete at the Paralympics. Each sport has very strict disability criteria, some explicitly exclude certain disabilities *for the Paralympics*. You can still play for fun.

I am a scientist with #EhlersDanlosSyndrome and my coworker was having hell of a time pipetting some really viscous collagen solution, and I leaned over her shoulder and said “Looks like I’m not the only one with collagen problems anymore” And I laughed very hard 😂
