Congress is now considering a bill that would permanently protect these forests. Sen. Jim Justice sits on the committee deciding whether it moves forward.
West Virginia still has 182,000 acres of roadless national forest — wild places like Roaring Plains, Seneca Creek, Tea Creek, Canaan Loop, North Fork Mountain, Cheat Mountain, and the Falls of Hills Creek area.
