Post–First Date Etiquette (For the Guys): 1. You text first. Yes, even if she “seemed chill.” Be a man. 2. Text her when she gets home to make sure she’s alive. (Bare minimum) 3. If you like her: follow up within 24 hours. (If there’s no text by the next morning, she will assume you died or aren’t interested - same difference.) 4. If you don’t like her: send a polite follow text within 48 hours so she doesn’t crash out 5. Ghosting is only acceptable if you’ve gone on fewer than 3 dates. After that, you owe her a sentence. Literally one. 6. If you actually like her: ask her out at the end of the date. Do not say “let’s hang soon.” You sound unemployed 7. Second date = dinner (if the first date was drinks). Show her you can sit for 90 mins without looking at your phone 8. If you want to see her again: provide at least 2 business days’ notice. We are adults 9. Do your due diligence: mutual friends, general sanity, etc.
