Kitchener Outdoor Rinks

Next weekend's temps are supposed to go below freezing again. So hopefully City Hall's Rink will be open as it has a cooling system.

Unfortunately... Yesterday reached +16C and was rainy. Today is +12C and sunny. Tomorrow is forecasted to be +15C and sunny. So that's a wrap of the 2025/26 Outdoor Rink season. It was a longer than usual season due to December's low temps.

PPW (Pioneer Park West) and Glendale are also opening today. Tuesday (March 3rd) is likely the end of the Kitchener #ODR season. So get 'dem skates on, Kitchener!

Looking for a place to skate outdoors today for Family Day Monday? Unfortunately the weather is not on our side. The forecasted high is +4C. Skating on soft ice will damage it. It's possible City Hall's Rink is open since it has a Cooling System.

Finally... we have some pictures of Alpine Park Outdoor Rink. It Kitchener's newest Rink, it first had ice on January 2025. It's on Kingswood Dr. near Alpine Rd.

Note to Skaters: Please help shovel snow, if you are able to. Bonus points if you shovel the snow completely off the Rink rather than leaving the snow at the edge of the Rink.

Kitchener's forecasted Thursday night low is -25C! -35C if you include the windchill factor. If you choose to skate out there, be careful.

Many Rinks will be removing snow today after Sunday's snowfall. Please help by shovelling if you can. Did you know... All of our Kitchener Outdoor Rinks are maintained by volunteers. Except for Victoria Park and Kitchener City Hall. City Hall has a cooling system.
