Outsider on the Watch

@OutsiderWatch

After 16 years on the old account, I opened a new account. If I followed you, we might already know each other. Unapologetically American.

The idea that one politician, whether it’s Donald Trump, Barack Obama, or anyone else, could rob you of pride in a nation that fought through revolution, civil war, depression, world wars, civil rights battles, scientific breakthroughs, and its own painful failures is historical illiteracy and weakness. I never voted for Obama. I was told by the Democrats, as a multiracial woman, that I was “supposed to.” I didn’t. But I never let one man shrink my love of country, my respect for its history, or my participation in the moments that belong to all Americans. America is SO MUCH BIGGER than your favorite politician, and SO MUCH BIGGER than the one you hate. When you let one person steal your pride in 250 years of history, you are not resisting. Just performative. You’re helping make this country seem smaller, weaker, and easier to divide. Stop it. Be proud of your country. Celebrate it.

Just saw The Odyssey. Despite what you may have heard, literally all of the criticisms by conservatives were entirely correct. The movie is just as woke as you fear, if not more so. The DEI casting is atrocious. Completely takes you out of the story right from the beginning. But even worse than that is Nolan’s decision to turn Odysseus into an anachronistic whiney, solemn shell of a man plagued by “trauma” and guilt. It’s impossible to overlook these flaws because the film itself is not terribly entertaining or well constructed. For the most part it is disjointed, dull, self-serious, disenchanted, somehow feeling both verbose and overly rushed at the same time. The dialogue is some of the worst I’ve ever heard in a “critically acclaimed” film. “On the nose” and “clunky” are descriptions that can’t even begin to describe this script. At no point in the story does Nolan ever transport the audience to the ancient world. You never feel like you’re 3,000 years in the past. You feel like you’re watching modern Americans put on a pageant, because you are. Nobody would be calling this thing a masterpiece if it was made by a director not named Christopher Nolan.

What utter crap. If you believe this nonsense then you have zero understanding of what pulls people to the left. But sure keep telling us it’s because we’re ugly, inherently evil, lazy, and envious. If actually walking the path of taking care of your neighbor and sharing your blessings is evil then none of you understand what Christ taught. You certainly don’t understand the whole don’t judge thing.

I still can't get over how good this is. Conservatives have always stuck with the "It doesn't work" argument against Leftism while pointing to their charts and graphs, hoping people will follow along. But THIS is the argument to make. 👇Leftism is ugly. It's repulsive. It's disgusting. It's lame. It's immoral. It's boring. It's depressing. This isn't a fight between two competing economic models, one of which happens to work better. This is a fight between beauty and ugliness. Building and destruction. Thankfulness and resentment. Love and hate. Greatness and cowardice. Good and evil.

My goodness. One of the best things I’ve ever heard. Bravo.

This speech from Zohran Mamdani on America’s 250th changed my politics. I’ve never seen a more pompous individual whose life has been void of any sacrifice or hard work confidently lecture as if people like him hold the key to human prosperity. Here’s a guy who had never held a job until he found the angle to satisfy his thirst for attention through politics at age 30, sit behind George Washington’s desk and give us a lecture on what is supposed to be a day of celebration. Instead of celebrating what this country built, prosperity and human rights that spread across the globe from basically nothing, he turns the moment into a lecture about how America is this flawed project desperately in need of topdown change from useless academics and politicians who’ve never built anything of value for anybody. As I get older, I have started wrestling with my own ridiculous and undeserved comforts, and the massive sacrifices of generations that made them possible. We should be expressing sheer gratitude for the families who crossed this country in covered wagons chasing a future, for the young men who died in muddy fields and frozen trenches defending it. At some point we let the children forget about this, and it's going to be a tragedy. Our ancestors didn’t sacrifice so we could sit around demanding more redistribution while building nothing of value ourselves and living in opulence kings couldn't have dreamed of. They built something exceptional through risk, and relentless work. Watching someone like Mamdani use the 250th as an opportunity to lecture us about what’s wrong with America, it just flips a switch for me. I’m done with the ingratitude. We need to defend America from those that leech off it's greatness and attempt to redefine it.

This is why you’ve always sucked as a PR agent. You just made a claim that I changed my stance, then admit you have no idea what I actually even said. “Where’s your proof”. I don’t know Andrew…since it took you about 10 months to verify every other element that I reported from that call—that Bibi did in fact call in the Hamptons, that Charlie did decline to have Bibi on his show, and that he did receive death threats the night before— people can safely assume that if told the truth about everything else, I likely didn’t concoct just one element for flair. You told me Bibi offered to take it to the next level, Andrew. People can decide whether you’ve been forthcoming and honest about anything and consider why it’s taken you this long to tell the truth about Charlie’s perspective when Bibi callously attempted to hijack his legacy. Why not share all of the truth back in September? Your silence as I’ve told the truth, repeatedly, has been enough to expose what you are. You betray Charlie every single day Andrew, and the entire world sees it. Billions of dollars and the DOJ on your side and you’re still a loser, Andrew because there is no real power without truth.
Andrew Kolvet@AndrewKolvet

No no, Candace. You don’t get off that easy. You’re the one making the explosive claim Israel made an offer to Charlie, TPUSA (or The Charlie Kirk Show now?lol) to “take Turning Point to the next level.” So, where’s your proof? It’s a simple question. And no thanks on watching every episode. Your central claim is literally in this thread: “There is no question an offer came in though.” But there actually was no offer, was there. It’s a complete fiction, an internet rumor you recklessly repeat with maximum confidence because if you say it with your chest, the internet will believe you.

🚨 This is what a foreign influence operation looks like at an American high school. The Party for Socialism and Liberation is mainly funded by the Neville Singham network from China. The PSL is a dangerous communist organization. Beginning in January, they recruited students from Asheville High School in North Carolina for anti-ICE protests. Adults from the PSL, including some of the teachers, joined them in revolutionary chants against ICE and the Trump administration. They held signs provided by the PSL. Before the protest, students had an “art build,” constructing signs that read “F*CK ICE” and “ICE melts in hell.” These are kids who never thought about ICE until the PSL got hold of them. Approx 2.5 miles away from this high school, ICE arrested a Biden illegal from El Salvador for multiple sexual assaults against a minor the same age as these students. These kids are being ideologically captured by a Communist organization. They’re being conditioned to protect the monsters who prey upon them. Where is our Department of Education? @usedgov @EDSecMcMahon

"Here's the obvious question: If HonestReporting - a watchdog using only open-source, publicly available information - could identify dozens of terror-linked "journalists," why couldn't the world's biggest news organizations? Did they never bother checking? Or did the facts get in the way of the narrative?" - @HonestReporting
HonestReporting@HonestReporting

1/ Stop the presses: The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) @pressfreedom has launched a full review of its "journalists killed in Gaza" list - and just showed board member @Nikasoonshiong the door. This didn't happen by accident. It happened because HonestReporting helped put them in an untenable position. 🧵

I hope this is a wake up call for the Wiener guy. It's all fun & games indulging vile commie street animals when their chaos benefits your goals, but they never stop there & they'll eat you, too. Socialism is a religion of malcontents; this frothing rage is a feature, not a bug.
Hadley Freeman@HadleyFreeman

These Wiener videos are so chilling. I don’t like WW2 analogies, but I think all of us who grew up hearing about how our grandparents were shouted at and shunned in 1930s Europe cannot help but see echoes here
