New paper! What happens when you apply vibration to bacteria? We asked this question for E. coli and revealed that attachment decreases. This response requires live cells and involves membrane potential. pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac…

New paper! Deactivating efflux pumps results in major changes to bacterial physiology. We demonstrate that knockout of the major efflux pump AcrB results in changes to membrane potential. journals.asm.org/doi/10.1128/mb…

@SaraTetraDec Pre-kit I used to do this using Phenol-Chloroform extraction and ethanol precipitation - Phenol-Chloroform is pretty nasty though

Anybody have a kit free method for doing PCR clean ups for sequencing (with cheap reagents 🙏). My grant money is on its last legs and I need to sequence my 16S PCR products to find out what bacteria I've been working with 🙏🙏🙏
