In promotion of uptake in HIV/SRHR services among the sex worker communities, We provided in-depth information, benefits but also correct usage of the #LENA challenging the stereotypes that are associated with the prep injectable. Big up to @TASOUganda for the support.

The right to health is a basic human right.
If universal health coverage is to be truly universal, it must encompass everyone, especially those who have the most difficulties accessing health services, such as migrants, key and vulnerable populations like sex workers, people who use drugs and People Living with HIV (PLHIV), without discrimination.
To achieve UHC under the new Uganda integration health approach, the following elements need to be in place:
- A strong, efficient, well-run health system that support community -led service delivery.
- Prioritise the principles of equality and non-discrimination.
- Availability of essential medicines and technologies.
- Well-trained, motivated health workers who understand the unique needs of marginalized Populations.
- Actions to address the social determinants of health.
- Affordability

The sudden passing of @JoanAmek has left our community shaken and heartbroken. Joan led @RellaWFug with courage, care, and conviction, and her work transformed lives. We mourn her deeply and commit to carrying her legacy forward.

We join our community in profound shock and mourning following the sudden and untimely passing of Joan Amek last evening. A fearless queer feminist, social entrepreneur, and movement leader, Joan’s death has left us heartbroken. Her courage, care, and uncompromising commitment to justice shaped struggles, built institutions, and transformed countless lives. As we grieve this devastating loss, we honour a life lived boldly and generously in service of others. May she rest in power, and may her vision, love, and legacy continue to guide our community.

“Violence against sex workers is not a historical issue but an ongoing national emergency.” - Nakatube Debora - Slum
“No harm should go unreported, sex workers need to organize themselves and report cases committed against them. We will respond.”- law enforcer.
“Criminalisation isn't protection it's a death sentence that pushes violence underground & shields killers.”- Stellah, UNESO
On #Dec17, we commemorated the international day to End Violence against Sex Workers. During the day, we held a press conference to condemn all forms of violence committed against Sex workers. We also held a black space to honour those lost due to violence.
We say - Criminalisation of sex work in Uganda fuels killings & lets perpetrators act with impunity.
We call for :
🔴Decriminalisation for safety & justice.
