Recovery of sport participation was positive in teenagers and adults, but for children - early adopters (4-14 years) participation rates in 2021 were lower than in 2019.
Re-engaging children in sport is key moving forward!

COVID-19 had a greater impact on females' participation. In 2021, female participation was lower than in 2019, whereas male participation increased.
We need to continue gender equity efforts in sport, in research, policy and practice.
