【3rd Brisket】 T's BBQ (Narita) English Brainwashed by brisket, I headed to a place called T's BBQ in the Narita Airport area in search of new meat. Like LONESTAR in Yokohama, this place also imports a dedicated smoker for brisket directly from the US, so my expectations were high. Sure enough, the smoker was proudly standing right in front of the store. When I arrived at the restaurant after taking a bus from Narita Station, it was extremely crowded. I overheard the staff saying things like: “Brisket is blowing up on X,” “Sorry, we’re sold out of that…” “It’ll be about a 30-minute wait,” “We have more than twice the usual number of customers today…” It seems the beautiful photos of jewel-like meat and the soulful cultural exchange sent by the BBQ brothers from the meat-loving country are now visibly impacting Japan from the American South. With that, my Texas BBQ plate and Corona beer finally arrived.Let me get straight to the point:Meat is power. Power is meat. Melt-in-your-mouth brisket, pulled pork with rich fatty flavor yet crispy edges, tacos filled with nothing but delicious ingredients, and freshly baked buns with a subtle sweetness… By the way, what I thought was some kind of fried eggplant on the top left (thinking it was a healthy vegetable) turned out to be a glossy black herb sausage. It was basically a 100% meat plate — and it was incredible! Everything was delicious, but what completely dominated my brain this time was the taco. It was stuffed with a crazy amount of pulled pork and vegetables wrapped in a tortilla. Every bite caused the filling to burst out wildly, so I quickly gave up on eating it neatly and devoured it like a primitive beast. The taco is a must-order. Making the ultimate “Desire Burger” with the perfect brisket and pulled pork, topped with ketchup, mustard, jalapeños, and pickles, was also insanely fun and delicious. This burger has the power to make you forget all your worries and suffering. I’m sure advanced AIs will eventually discover its medical benefits. Also, the bun is excellent! It complements the violently flavorful meat while asserting its own subtle sweetness — it’s not just a supporting actor, but another true protagonist. On top of the taste, the staff’s service was also outstanding. Even though they were extremely busy due to the unexpected crowd, every single customer was asked, “How was everything? Did it suit your taste?” I was genuinely impressed by their high level of hospitality. They didn’t use the busyness as an excuse to lower service quality. Because my brain was fully controlled by meat cravings, I ordered the full-loaded plate, asked for extra meat, chose the second-highest grade, and even added a Corona beer, so the bill ended up being quite expensive. I should mention that this is not a cheap restaurant. However, the taco alone is 1,300 yen, and there are many ordering options, so it’s absolutely worth visiting! I can confidently and strongly recommend the taste. Since it’s close to Narita Airport, it might be a great option for travelers right after arrival or just before departure. In that case, I recommend taking a taxi or bus from Narita Station. (I walked about 45 minutes one way for health and budget reasons.) Anyway, it was an absolutely fantastic restaurant! It was so good that I believe even the BBQ brothers from the meat country — who are full of love for BBQ yet have very strict standards — would be satisfied. If you want to eat JAPANESE brisket, which is quietly booming right now, I highly recommend these two spots:LONESTAR SMOKE HOUSE in Yokohama (Kannai) and T's BBQ in Narita, Chiba. I’ve decided to stuff myself with authentic brisket made by the locals at the Yokota Japan-US Friendship Festival in May. I’m really looking forward to it and sincerely hope the event goes ahead safely.
