Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee ensured that Hindu-majority West Bengal remained with India, becoming a homeland where Hindu Bengalis could live freely, preserve their culture, and practice their faith without fear. For decades, Hindu Bengalis stranded on the other side of the border fled religious persecution and sought refuge in India. The Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was meant to offer these refugees a life of dignity and legal certainty—without taking away any rights from existing citizens. Yet Mamata Banerjee fiercely opposed the CAA. She mobilised clerics and radical elements to protest a humanitarian law meant to grant citizenship to persecuted Hindus, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, and Jains from Islamic neighbourhoods. Under her watch, organised mobs rampaged through streets, blocked highways, damaged public property, and targeted Hindus. Her government intimidated vulnerable communities like the Mathuas, Namasudras, and Rajbanshis, discouraging them from applying under the CAA by spreading fear that identifying as refugees would invite harassment, loss of documents, and denial of state benefits. By demonising the CAA, Mamata Banerjee left Bengali Hindus exposed and insecure. Had she not pursued divisive politics rooted in appeasement, who knows—perhaps Dipu Chandra Das of Bangladesh would be alive today, living with dignity in West Bengal, worshipping Maa Kali, and providing for his family. History will remember these choices. Do not forget Mamata Banerjee’s actions. Hold her accountable in 2026. She must be VOTED OUT.
