We had the pleasure of taking 6 politically engaged students to Angmering school today for a debate between the candidates standing for Worthing West constituency. The students discussed their ideas afterwards. Here's to more political engagement and participating in democracy!

@StephPowell17 Interesting that a heavily misleading graphic from Lib-Dem campaign head quarters is doing the round again. This was a vote on introducing an overdue but welcome target for an incredible 80% reduction in phosphates (most commonly but not solely from sewage) in our rivers.

On St George's Day, we also celebrate Shakespeare's birthday. Icons like Shakespeare show the strength of English culture and language on the international stage. In Summer, we will celebrate English teams at the Euros whilst at the same time cheering on Team GB at the Olympics.

Until 1998 an MP raising a point of order while the House was voting had to be "seated and covered", i.e. wearing a hat. Two opera hats were kept for this purpose - sometimes an MP would cover their head with an order paper while a hat was retrieved.
