#DidYouKnow rebels in Upper Canada created their own currency during the 1837 Rebellion?🤯 Thanks to Rebel leader William Lyon Mackenzie, rebels had the ability & tech to print their own money, like this $10 note, which was printed & signed by Mackenzie himself!💵 #OurVaults 🗝

This wooden diorama depicts French explorer Jacques Cartier’s ships ⛵ arriving in North America in 1534. Carved by Médard Bourgault, a self-taught Quebec sculptor, it is 1 of approximately 4,000 works created throughout his lifetime! 🤯 #OurVaults 🗝

For the music lovers! 🎵 This London-made upright piano was brought to Canada in 1822 by the English Reverend Robert Blakey. 🎹 A symbol of middle-class wealth and status, pianos like this would have sat in the parlour of many Victorian homes. 🎼 #OurVaults! 🗝

150 years ago these decorative pig-shaped pen-wipes were writing desk classics 🐖, used to clean the nibs of fountain pens. 🖋 Most homemade pen-wipes used felt or velvet, while some used dolls or even taxidermied bird heads! 🐤 #OurVaults!

Fancy a drink?🍾 These salt-glazed stoneware jugs were produced in 16th-18th century Europe. These Beardman, Bartmann, or Bellarmine jugs transported liquids like alcohol globally and were even found at the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site. ⛪ #OurVaults! 🗝
