Happy that here in @PowhatanSchools, we never left. Our programs are a little bit smaller this year, but every setback is a set up for a comeback.

Today’s weather was perfect for an outdoor ⁦@PowhatanHS⁩ Symphonic Band rehearsal!

Whenever we needed a place to go, it was music. Whenever we needed to express ourselves, it was music. Whenever we wanted to get away from it all, it was music. Whenever we wanted to feel special, it was music. The Music Department was more than a department, it was a home.

It’s great to have the ⁦@PowhatanHS⁩ marching band and show choirs back in full! I’ve loved seeing their energy and dedication to the craft. Look out for details about upcoming performances.

When we fill our schools with music, the benefits spill over and permeate the learning and lives of each and every young person. This in turn helps them to grow into more confident, understanding, empathetic, and connected people. Filling our schools with music benefits us all.

We all need music.
