For too long, too many people have felt that the crowd making decisions aren't taking them seriously. PC Leader @TonyWakehamNL and the Progressive Conservatives are fighting for a better Newfoundland and Labrador, for ALL of us.

A century ago, women in Newfoundland and Labrador secured the right to vote and hold public office. Today, that legacy lives on through the 100th Anniversary of Women Achieving the Right to Vote and Hold Public Office Scholarship Program. We’re proud to announce 100 scholarships, valued at $1,000 each, awarded to outstanding young women in grades 10 to 12 from communities across our province. These students are already making a difference, and this investment helps them go even further. Congratulations to all recipients. The future of Newfoundland and Labrador is in strong hands.

They had their chance — and didn’t budget a cent to keep fees down. On April 1, the cost of your license renewal was going to go up under the Hogan Liberals. We’re taking action to lower taxes, protect affordability and put money back in your pocket. We won’t increase the cost of a license to start!

This month, we marked a major milestone in advancing the Bay du Nord project and the future of Newfoundland and Labrador’s offshore industry. We are not only back in the oil and gas business, but doing what many said could not be done. Moments like this are about building a stronger future for our workers, our communities, and the next generation of Newfoundlanders and Labradorians. The sun is shining on our offshore, because cannot will be no more.

Newfoundland and Labrador is leading Canada in boosting exports to countries outside the United States. That means more global markets, more opportunities for our industries, and more jobs here at home. From offshore energy to natural resources, Newfoundland and Labrador is proving that when we develop our strengths and expand our trade relationships, our province can compete with the best in the world. And this is just the beginning.

The AG has confirmed the previous Liberal government understated the deficit by counting future payments of the tobacco settlement years before the money would arrive. In the fall we discovered the real deficit was $948 million. Nearly a billion dollars. Now Liberal leader John Hogan wants to lecture everyone else about fixing it. Where was that concern when they were cooking the books?

BREAKING NEWS - the PC government has introduced legislation to permanently reduce the provincial tax on gasoline and diesel. If approved, the amendments will mean that fuel prices will remain about 8.05 cents per litre lower, helping families and businesses keep more money in their pockets. The PCs are delivering lower taxes for all of us.

We promised to permanently reduce the tax on gasoline and diesel, and we’re working toward that commitment. We've introduced legislation to permanently reduce the provincial tax on gasoline and diesel to support drivers in Newfoundland and Labrador. If passed, this will keep fuel prices about 8.05 cents per litre lower, helping families and businesses manage the rising cost of living.

Today, with @Equinor and @bp_plc, we signed the agreement to move Bay du Nord forward. That means a $21 billion investment in Newfoundland and Labrador. It means thousands of jobs. It means fabrication work at Bull Arm. It means a new floating dry dock that will create long-term trades work. It means 31 million hours of guaranteed employment over the life of the project. Newfoundland and Labrador is back in the offshore oil business: and this time, we will make sure the benefits stay here at home.

Bill 1 - an Act Respecting the Disability Advocate - is the first piece of legislation from our new government, fulfilling a promise we made to the people of Newfoundland and Labrador. For too long, individuals with disabilities and their families have said the same thing: navigating government systems can be difficult, confusing, and sometimes overwhelming. They asked for one simple but powerful thing: someone whose sole job is to stand up for them. This proposed legislation would do just that. We look forward to debating the legislation as we strive to ensure a more inclusive Newfoundland and Labrador.

.@Trades_NL says our government 'delivered' on local benefits for Bay du Nord. Bay du Nord now includes a $200 million fabrication fund to build the largest floating dry dock in Eastern Canada, creating hundreds of construction jobs and unlocking long-term maintenance and defence sector work for decades to come. A win like this for our workers is a win for all of us.

We said we would fight for real work for Newfoundland and Labrador trades workers - and today Premier @TonyWakehamNL and the PC Government delivered. Bay du Nord will deliver: 🔹 31 million person-hours over the life of the project 🔹 95% of subsea work completed right here at home 🔹$200 million Fabrication Fund to build a new floating dry dock at Bull Arm That floating dry dock means trades work now, and it opens the door to entirely new industry opportunities, including national defence and long-term vessel maintenance right here in our province. We’re not just creating short-term construction jobs, we’re building long-term industrial capacity that will keep tradespeople working for decades. Our PC Government is securing projects that put Newfoundland and Labrador workers first.

From the unforgettable 2006 Winter Olympics to a career that helped define Canadian curling, @BradGushue and @TeamGushue gave this province moments we will never forget. We will remember the celebration. We will remember the pride. But beyond the medals and championships, Brad and Team Gushue became something more; they became a symbol of Newfoundland and Labrador on the national and international stage. A reminder that athletes from this small province can stand at the very top of the world. Through passion, discipline, and unwavering pride in where he comes from, Brad inspired a generation of young athletes and brought our province together, time and time again. Thank you, Brad, for the memories. Thank you for showing us that anything is possible.
