@princesspruk @paedsnursebeth @JeremyH09406697 There are also clear overlaps with Bipolar and ADHD which they didn't assess for in my daughters care despite the fact that she had a working diagnosis of bipolar disorder when she was admitted as an inpatient. They made her worse than ever!!

@paedsnursebeth @JeremyH09406697 Males tend to be shoehorned into antisocial or narcisisstic personality disorder instead :( the ratio is 3:1, female to male diagnosis. Nice to see the number of studies linking undiagnosed female autism to bpd really are increasing over the years though psva.org/wp-content/upl…

@appyjumpindaze Thanks for saying. I saw too many young girls get sent to awful places knowing that in another part of the country it wouldn't happen. I just couldn't watch it anymore.

@Keirwales This is horrible! So many Autists are misdiagnosed with BPD and I could totally see how an Autistic person locked in a sensory overwhelming environment would be stimming/self harming more. Thank you for helping these ppl!

@stephstwogirls I wouldn't say many diagnosed with BPD were correctly diagnosed - its such a messy diagnosis that all sorts of issues that challenge clinicians are slipped into that diagnosos.

@Keirwales This is really interesting. I know it’s probably not huge numbers, but I do wonder how many might be diagnosed with autism, specifically PDA, if those with experience of this were assessing...

Thank U😊 I will Tweet progress. Today Myself & the community team have chosen a Care provider. The @CareQualityComm R looking at what can be done 2 support Dannielle while We form a team of specially trained Carers 2 look after D in the ATU & prep her 4 transition 2 her home.

If a child is living in #Somerset with #SEND they will end up under one of these pathways. Children’s services is the dipleation of respite and services. CWD are the disabled social care team. Many are under all the other services! #SomersetSENDharm

There is a petition on the parliamentary petitions site to extend urgently the statutory age limit for SEND provision in the wake of COVID-19. As young people with disability are losing almost of a year of education, EHCP should be extended to age 26. ow.ly/JWGj30qNBET
