Late tonight through the end of the week, an atmospheric river brings the potential for heavy rain and wind that could create areas of ponding water and downed trees. We're getting ready by clearing storm drains. You can help by clearing one near you. portland.gov/transportation…
NWS Portland@NWSPortland

A long duration atmospheric river will bring periods of moderate to heavy rain to NW OR & SW WA Wed-Fri. Landslides, minor flooding of rivers that drain from the Willapa Hills, Coast Range, & Cascades, and flooding of small creeks, streams, & low-lying areas are possible.

Today, on International Holocaust Remembrance Day, the City honors the six million Jewish people murdered in the Holocaust and remembers the millions of others targeted and killed by the Nazi regime between 1933 and 1945. This day marks the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau in 1945. International Holocaust Remembrance Day is a reminder to confront antisemitism and racism and educate future generations to help prevent genocide. To learn more, visit the Oregon Holocaust Memorial in Washington Park near the International Rose Test Garden. Dedicated in 2004, the free outdoor memorial shares Holocaust history, survivor quotes, and the names of people who died in the concentration camps and their surviving relatives in Oregon and southwest Washington. City of Portland employees work in our neighborhoods every day to keep our city running. But it is not common for a City of Portland worker to ask to enter your home or business without an appointment. When City employees do need to enter a home or business, it is usually at the request of the property owner and scheduled in advance. It is also not common for a City of Portland worker to ask you to exit your home. We want Portlanders to feel safe and secure when interacting with City employees. Information below will help you recognize City employees and know what to expect when they visit your property. If you aren't sure, do not open the door. Call 3-1-1 to better understand why City of Portland employees might be in your area. They are available 7 days a week. Call 9-1-1 if you feel unsafe or threatened by someone on your private property. Portland.gov/Federal #Portland #SanctuaryCity #LovePortland #CommunitySafety
