He also destroyed the myth of highlighting and re reading. Recognition is not the same as recall. To prove it, he read 13 random letters. Almost no one remembered them. Then he turned them into “Happy Thursday.” The entire room recalled them instantly. The brain stores meaning, not repetition. This is why elaborative encoding works so well. Finally, he shared the most important principle: 80 percent of study time should be active recitation. Close the book and explain the material in your own words. Teach it to someone else or an empty chair. Retrieval is where real learning happens. His closing line stuck with me: If this information does not change your behaviour, you have not actually learned it. The best students do not study more hours. They stop confusing the feeling of studying with the reality of learning.

This isn't just a pile of debris - it’s the future of green energy waste hidden in plain sight. Millions of solar panels are hitting their end-of-life cycle, and the world is completely unprepared for the coming toxic avalanche. By 2050, the International Renewable Energy Agency projects up to 78 million metric tons of solar e-waste. Where is it all going to go? The industry boasts that solar panels are '95% recyclable'. Technically, yes - because they are made of glass, aluminum and copper. But economics always trumps physics. In Australia and the US, it costs roughly $20 to $28 to properly disassemble and recycle a single panel, but only about $4 to dump it in landfill. Because there is no financial incentive, up to 90% of decommissioned panels go straight into the ground. Each solar panel is an industrial 'sandwich' bound tightly by heavy polymers. To extract the microscopic amounts of valuable silver and high-purity silicon requires energy-intensive chemical and thermal baking. When they are crushed or left to fracture in landfills, heavy metals like lead and cadmium can leach into the surrounding soil and groundwater, turning 'clean energy' into a multi-generational hazardous waste problem. The crisis is accelerating faster than models predicted. Because solar cells degrade and lose efficiency, and because newer, cheaper panels hit the market, consumers and solar farms are ripping out functional systems at least a decade early to upgrade. This compressed lifecycle destroys the narrative of a long-term, stable asset and creates an endless loop of unrecyclable industrial trash.

As a GP for 40 years I can’t remember diagnosing a single stage four cancers particularly in a young person . They can’t tell you the truth, if they even understand it, they fear they wouldn’t be elected if they did. And they are right. Britain is failing and its political class have no idea where this ‘mythical’ growth to cover obscene spending will come from. Because they can’t! There isn’t really any. The working age population is shrinking, the number of people claiming benefits is rising, and the public sector, funded by the private sector, is massively expanding. AI is on track to replace up to 60% of white collar jobs in the next 10 years. Meaning the majority will be jobless and needing to claim benefits. Which we won’t be able to afford to pay! Because tax income will have decreased…. Not one politician has addressed this. The guff about “net zero” and “green jobs” is bollocks (technical term) Those jobs only exist during the construction phase, after that, these are largely automated industries. So of course, we’ve decided to invest your tax in an industry that will destroy your jobs. As for those shouting about Universal Basic Income er … from where? How would it be funded? You’re dreaming. And those saying we can just tax the corporations, they’re dreaming too. They’ll just operate from outside the UK. And to control you … as you demand pay rises and more benefits? Well, a near total clampdown of speech and thought, and protesting, through legislation and censorship and those Digital IDs, “just so you behave yourself.” There really is little growth, all those retraining, don’t think you’re safe either, trades will be hit because ordinary citizens won’t have the money to buy services. We’re are in a badly managed decline, with grossly under qualified and incapable politicians all pretending they can fix it. And all those screaming to tax the rich? You’re just morons.
