@michaelkasdan They COULD have done the right thing based on the spirit of the situation, but Cole has to know to step off first before complaining. By rule it was a balk. If he had stepped off, he would have been fine. Bummer. Glad it didn't lead to runs.

Completely unfair for Cole to be penalized with a balk for pointing that the pitch clock had turned off. Umps can’t come together and get that right?
