#UrgentRescueAlert The videos are too painful to watch, but we want to share the condition in which Gracie was being kept. Chained, confined, and in visible pain, her life reflects a practice that should have never existed, let alone continued. Wildlife SOS played a key role in ending the 500-year-old “dancing” bear trade in India, with the last known bear rescued in 2009. And yet, cases like Lissy and Gracie are a stark reminder that such cruelty can still resurface. This exploitation is illegal, inhumane, and a direct violation of wildlife protection laws. We are continuing to investigate how this occurred, to ensure it does not happen again. Gracie is now at the Agra Bear Rescue Facility, where she is undergoing urgent medical treatment. Her recovery will be long and intensive, and she will need continued care, nutrition, and medical support.
