PETA Youth encouraged students at @BITSPilaniGoa to make compassionate choices for animals by rejecting speciesism, a misguided belief that other species are inferior to our own, and it is acceptable to exploit them.  Students browsed through informational leaflets, checked out PETA India Director Poorva Joshipura’s books, took pictures at the photo booth, and signed our petition calling for stronger penalties against animal abusers. #EndSpeciesism#PETAYouth #PETAIndia

This is a poor monkey stuck in a posh residential building in Bangalore, Whitefield. It's been stuck for 10 days now. @aranya_kfd Every DFO has been contacted. It's absolutely shocking how the reporter is being re directed to different desks and no help. @karnatakacm

The terrified puppy was beaten repeatedly with a thick stick. 💔💔 Several people witnessed the incident and tried to intervene, but the accused continued striking the helpless puppy until the animal succumbed to the severe injuries. PETA India is grateful to Shri Sudhir Singh, Station House Officer of Sadar Bazar Police Station, Mathura, for registering an FIR and sending out a clear message that cruelty to animals will not be tolerated. @Uppolice @mathurapolice Details: petain.vg/bh0 #NoMore50 #AnimalRights #PETAIndia

Violence toward animals is never “just an incident” — it’s a serious warning sign. Research shows animal abusers are far more likely to commit violent crimes against humans, too. Hence, always report cruelty to animals.

Wildlife SOS@WildlifeSOS

#UrgentRescueAlert The videos are too painful to watch, but we want to share the condition in which Gracie was being kept. Chained, confined, and in visible pain, her life reflects a practice that should have never existed, let alone continued. Wildlife SOS played a key role in ending the 500-year-old “dancing” bear trade in India, with the last known bear rescued in 2009. And yet, cases like Lissy and Gracie are a stark reminder that such cruelty can still resurface. This exploitation is illegal, inhumane, and a direct violation of wildlife protection laws. We are continuing to investigate how this occurred, to ensure it does not happen again. Gracie is now at the Agra Bear Rescue Facility, where she is undergoing urgent medical treatment. Her recovery will be long and intensive, and she will need continued care, nutrition, and medical support. We will need your support to help her through this journey and give her a real chance at healing. Indian donors can contribute here: wildlife-sos.danamojo.org/dm/gracies-sto… For donors outside India: give.wildlifesos.org/page/30266/don…

Did you know, fish often suffer for over 20 minutes before they suffocate to death? The founder of PETA entities worldwide, Ingrid Newkirk, became a ‘fish’ who gets ‘chopped’ on a block of ice in Mumbai to show everyone how fish suffer when they are suffocated, crushed, or cut open while conscious. #GoVegan #Fish #EndSpeciesis #AquaticAnimals #AnimalRights #Mumbai #PETAIndia

We are in touch with the Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife West), Maharashtra, Dr Jitendra Ramgaonkar IFS, who confirmed that wildlife offence reports (WLOR) have been registered by the Thane Forest Division in relation to three instances of attacks on bonnet macaques in the past week and that they are actively investigating to identify and nab the accused persons. We have urged the forest officials to invoke the stringent provisions of the Arms Act, 1959, for unauthorised use of arrows, to ensure stronger punishment.
