The PFF raises deep concerns over the current state of governance and the increasing militarization of our public life. The recent order by Mr. Museveni to release UGX 56BN for LC I elections is a direct violation of institutional independence. If the electoral commission must wait for a presidential directive to use funds appropriated by Parliament then it is no longer an independent body. The EC must immediately release clear guidelines for first-time voters and a definitive election roadmap otherwise this is a delay tactic to disenfranchise the young voters. For four weeks, heavy military roadblocks have caused unnecessary delays and undue policing in the Kampala Metropolitan Area. Citizens deserve to know the specific security threats justifying these searches and security operations should not come at the cost of human rights and psychological intimidation. We condemn the militaristic and barbaric evictions of hardworking Ugandans. The government must provide conducive alternative spaces. Destroying property and exposing goods to theft is unacceptable. Fines and structured closures should replace brute force. The regime must respect the people of Uganda. We demand institutional transparency, an end to the policing by fear, and the protection of every citizen’s right to work and vote. #FreeKizzaBesigye #FreeHajjiObeid #FreeSamMugumya #FreeSamuelMakokha #FreedomForAll

To our Muslim brothers and sisters across the nation and the globe: Eid Mubarak. As the crescent moon marks the end of Ramadan, we celebrate not just the feast, but the profound spirit of resilience that defined your fast. The discipline shown in the face of hunger and thirst is a powerful testament to the human will. A will that cannot be broken by hardship or systemic injustice. In the spirit of this holy day, we are reminded that true devotion often requires speaking truth to power. Just as the prophets stood firm against the tyrants of their time, we draw inspiration from your commitment to justice and your unwavering pursuit of a more equitable world. For many, this Eid is celebrated under the shadow of struggle. We recognize those who continue to pray for liberation, those who celebrate in the face of adversity, and those whose desire for freedom remains their North Star. May this Eid bring peace to your homes and renewed strength to our collective movement. We stand with you in the trenches of hope and the corridors of courage. Eid Mubarak #FreeKizzaBesigye #FreeHajjiObeid #FreeSamMugumya #FreeSamuelMakokha #FreedomForAll

For 40 years, the strength of Ugandan women has been the backbone of our nation, yet their stories are often relegated to the shadows. Behind every market stall, every closed door, and every empty chair at the dinner table, there is a story of resilience against a system that has taken too much. Stories of unfair evictions and the struggle to protect your livelihood. Tales of those left to raise families alone due to state-led abductions and disappearances. Your political and social battles in a space designed to keep you silent. The untold stories of women under Museveni. We know your truth. The People’s Front for Freedom women are compiling a landmark magazine to ensure the world finally hears what it means to live, lose, and lead under four decades of dictatorship. Your silence has never protected you, your voice will empower us all. #FreeKizzaBesigye #FreeHajjiObeid #FreeSamMugumya #FreeSamuelMakokha #FreedomForAll

Today, at the high court, the world continued to witness the death of judicial independence. Our leaders Dr. Kizza Besigye and Haji Obeid Lutale appeared before Justice Emmanuel Baguma, only to find a court that has abandoned the scales of justice for the script of a regime. Justice Emmanuel Baguma has become a prosecutor and judge at the same time. After over a year of illegal incarceration, the state has resorted to "circus of injustice," the state keeps playing games with their freedom. Prosecution filed a "secret" application to conceal 6 witnesses and key evidence, catching our defense team completely off guard. Justice Baguma fixed a hearing for this application without even serving the defense lawyers yet valid applications from our leaders are dismissed with contempt, while every whim of the state is granted. As Dr. Besigye rightfully told the court today:"𝑰𝒇 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒖𝒆 𝒕𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒖𝒔 𝒖𝒏𝒇𝒂𝒊𝒓𝒍𝒚 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔, 𝒘𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒑 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒕." We will not participate in a process designed to legitimize our own persecution. Prioritizing secrecy over fairness isn’t justice, it’s a desperate attempt to hide the truth. If the state has a case, why hide the "evidence"? If the law is supreme, why fear the light? If the regime thinks it can use the gavels of the court to silence the voices of the people, they have failed. We put these captured institutions to the test not because we expect fairness, but to expose the rot to the world. The walls of the courtroom are high, but the will of the people is higher; we do not beg for justice from our captors we shall dismantle the cage until every soul is free! We stay defiant. We stay focused. We know that truth is the one thing no dictator can incarcerate. #FreeKizzaBesigye #FreeHajjiObeid #FreeSamMugumya #FreeSamuelMakokha #FreedomForAll

Tomorrow, Thursday, 12th March 2026, our esteemed leaders, Dr. Kizza Besigye and Hajji Obeid Lutale, return to the High Court in Kampala. This follows the last hearing where the prosecution was, on court order, meant to fully disclose all evidence against our leaders to enable the legal team to adequately prepare for their defense. Instead of complying with the tenets of a fair trial, the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has filed an application to conceal the identities of their key witnesses. This is a familiar, weary tactic often employed by the state in cases involving Dr. Besigye. It's a clear attempt to deny our leaders justice and frustrate our efforts for change. But we are not deterred. We have seen this before, and we have overcome before. Let us flock to the High Court tomorrow and show our leaders that they are not alone. Our presence is a symbol of our unwavering support for justice, democracy, and the rule of law. #FreeKizzaBesigye #FreeHajjiObeid #FreeSamMugumya #FreeSamuelMakokha #FreedomForAll

We, the women of the People’s Front for Freedom, speak with one voice that true empowerment lies not in comfort or celebration, but in the costly and deliberate act of giving our time, resources, energy and even our safety so that Uganda may gain the freedom, justice and dignity long denied. For us, "Giving to Gain" is a lived covenant of sacrifice sustained by hope. While others mark the day with flowers, merry making and parties, we shall mark the women's month by reflecting the pain inflicted upon us by the 40 years of family rule. We shall walk prison corridors, stand with broken families, and turn the tear-stained pages of the untold stories of women, stories of courage crushed by systematic repression, yet refusing to remain silent. #FreeKizzaBesigye #FreeHajjiObeid #FreeSamMugumya #FreeSamuelMakokha #FreedomForAll

This International Women’s Day, we are not just celebrating, we are uncovering the uncomfortable truth. While the world marks the progress of women, the People’s Front for Freedom invites you to a powerful reflection on the reality of Ugandan women over the years. From the silent struggles in our communities to the documented repression of those who dare to speak up, it is time to unfold the history that has been hidden. We honor the resilience of our sisters, mothers, and daughters by breaking the silence on years of state-led suppression. Join the conversation this Sunday 8th March, 2026 at our liberation home Plot 6, Katonga Road at exactly 11:00am. Let us come together to share the lived experiences of those who have stood firm against the tide. Your presence is a statement. Your voice is the catalyst for the change we seek. "A nation that suppresses the voices of its women can never truly be free." #FreeKizzaBesigye #FreeHajjiObeid #FreeSamMugumya #FreeSamuelMakokha #FreedomForAll

The People’s Front for Freedom condemns, in the strongest possible terms, the blatant judicial sabotage and state-sponsored harassment displayed in the ongoing trial of our leaders, Dr. Kizza Besigye and Hajji Obeid Lutale Kamulegeya. For 15 months, the Museveni administration and its legal apparatus have sung a chorus of "readiness," claiming to possess overwhelming evidence. Yet, when the moment of truth arrives, the state retreats into a fortress of excuses. Despite the state machinery repeatedly claiming they have the evidence to "pin" our leaders, the reality in court today tells a different story; Justice Baguma set January 31st as the final deadline for the state to provide full disclosure of evidence to the defense. The state failed to meet this basic legal requirement. Today, the prosecution had the audacity to ask for more time simply to transfer files onto flash drives. This is not a legal hurdle, it is a stalling tactic designed to keep innocent men under the thumb of the state. By repeatedly asking for extensions for administrative tasks, the state admits it is either incompetent or, more likely, operating in bad faith to prolong the detention and restriction of our leaders. While the bench grants "courtesy" to the state’s delays, it offers no such grace to the accused. Another date 3r March for disclosure and 12th March for "final scheduling" is simply code for indefinite detention without trial. If the state were truly ready, this evidence would have been presented over a year ago. We call upon the judiciary to stop acting as an extension of the executive’s political arm. The continued incarceration and trial by attrition of Dr. Besigye and Hajji Obeid is a stain on the Ugandan legal system. In a move that highlights the sheer vindictiveness of the state, we note with heavy hearts the interference on Mass meant for Dr. Besigye and other political prisoners. To deny a man the right to pray and the solace of Mass is to attempt to break his soul where his body has refused to bend. Even in the darkest moments of Uganda’s history, the right to seek spiritual counsel was respected. Today, under this regime, even God is treated as a security threat. How much more injustice must be endured before the state carries its own shame? We demand an immediate end to this judicial and now spiritual persecution. #FreeKizzaBesigye #FreeHajjiObeid #FreeSamMugumya #FreeSamuelMakokha #FreedomForAll

Tomorrow, the struggle for a free Uganda returns to the High Court. Our leaders, Dr. Kizza Besigye and Hajji Obeid Lutale, will stand tall against a system designed to break them. The regime has treated our laws like a personal playground using cadre judges and legal gymnastics to drag this case out, hoping we would lose interest. They thought wrong. Under the gaze of Justice Baguma, our powerhouse legal team led by the fearless Senior Counsel Martha Karua is ready to dismantle the regime’s lies and expose this political persecution for what it truly is. We are calling on every pro-democracy force, every freedom fighter and every Ugandan tired of being silenced: OCCUPY THE COURT! Your presence is the strongest shield against injustice. They have the guns and the gavel, but we have the numbers and the truth. #FreeKizzaBesigye #FreeHajjiObeid #FreeSamMugumya #FreeSamuelMakokha #FreedomForAll
