Almudena Cathedral, Madrid. The cathedral is situated just south of the Royal Palace, across the Plaza de Almudena.

The Palacio de Cibeles in Madrid, on the plaza of the same name, was built over a century ago as the headquarters of the postal service. It’s now home to the city council of Madrid.

The Palacio de Cristal, or Chrystal Palace, was built in 1887 out of iron and glass and is situated on a small lake in Retiro Park, Madrid.

There are a lot of entertainment options on long-haul flights these days, but the amazing world below is still the best show. Here we see glaciers from the Greenland ice sheet discharging into a fjord on the eastern coast of the world’s largest island.
