@PaulZeise Just build domed stadiums. I'm a season ticket holder and am all for it.

A trip to the Super Bowl should not be determined by weather conditions. It just shouldn't. These games should be played at neutral sites in warm weather cities under good conditions

Montana WR Michael Wortham fighting through a hold to make a great catch. He’s small, but he’s been very good this week.

@peso3os He’s had 10+ wins 11 times, 11+ wins 7 times, 12+ wins 5 times. All more than 8 or 9 won seasons. So why not any of those labels?

Because he’s been 8-8 and 9-7 some times too it’s basically right above 500

Mike Tomlin and the #Steelers being 9-8 is a popular joke, but they've only been 9-8 once (and have never been worse) in the 5 years the #NFL has had 17 games. So why that label? 22 coaches have been 9-8 or worse for more seasons during that time: 4 times: Pete Carroll, Kevin Stefanski 3 times: Dennis Allen, Todd Bowles, Dan Campbell, Brian Daboll, Matt Eberflus, John Gannon, Mike McDaniel, Ron Rivera, Shane Steichen, Zac Taylor 2 times: Dave Canales, John Harbaugh, Matt LaFleur, Raheem Morris, Kevin O'Connell, Sean Payton, Doug Pederson, Brandon Staley, Mike Vrabel That includes the last 6 consecutive winners of NFL Coach of the Year (Harbaugh/Stefanski 2x/Vrabel/Daboll/O'Connell). So why does Tomlin get that label?

@CarterCritiques @JoshYohe_PGH I'm guessing the other coaches didn't get to keep their jobs for 20 years, which is why you didn't hear the criticism

@JoshYohe_PGH "Destroyed" to me is at least losing by 3 scores -- which has only happened once. And again, 22 coaches have done that or worse more often, but somehow they're not the target for it.

@CarterCritiques I would imagine not winning a playoff game in nine years and getting destroyed in most of those playoff games plays a pretty significant role.

@CarterCritiques Right, unlike TJ Watt who has less playoff wins. I'm assuming Garrett played for the Browns when they crushed the Stillers in the playoffs in Pittsburgh

Fans booed the beginning of "Renegade" here at Acrisure Stadium as the Steelers trail the Bills, 23-7, with 10:11 left. That has subsided but no one is cheering and defenders are just standing on the field as Styx blares during the timeout. Is this rock bottom?

@CarterCritiques This is not a sustainable model for winning. Too reliant on turnovers. Boom or bust.

@ASaunders_PGH @jagoffbrewer There is no excuse for the condition of the field with the resources and influence the Rooney's and the NFL have. As far as I know no high school team has played there this year so that's not an excuse. Correct me if I'm wrong.

@jagoffbrewer The Linc has hybrid. Which the Steelers used to have. But then WPIAL championship games destroyed it and you can’t replace a hybrid field mid-season.

Answering many angry but largely misguided comments in one place: The Steelers do not own Acrisure Stadium and have no say in whether or not Pitt and WPIAL play games there. Very notably, the stadium project was not viable until Pitt was on board. There is no other grass field this far north that gets this amount of traffic. You can't just willy-nilly replace sod whenever you want. It needs time to set before you can play on it. There's also about a year's lead time on purchasing it. They tried a hybrid field and that was worse. Since they've gone back to grass, they've had relatively few issues. Even with occasional problems, grass is better and safer than turf.
Alan Saunders@ASaunders_PGH

#Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers called the Acrisure Stadium playing surface “borderline unplayable” and it appeared that K Chris Boswell slipped on a 4Q attempt. The field is being turned over right now ahead of the next game here Oct. 25. steelersnow.com/steelers-acris…

Brain is more fried than usual after covering a game. Maybe because the Steelers clearly were outplayed but also an absurdly fluky play completely shifted the momentum on top of the score. If not for that I feel like they turn Sam Darnold into a pumpkin and pull out the usual W.

The main issue with the Steelers right now is the offensive line and this overrated, overpaid defense. #Steelers #NFL
