On May 13, PHFA's Housing Management team held its second Agent Compliance Training at One Homestead, a 51-unit affordable housing development in Homestead, Allegheny County. Roughly 75 partners attending our training which focused on housing management policies and procedures.

The HACP joined its partners with @WodaCooper, the City of @Pittsburgh, @urapgh, @ACE_Innamorato, @PHFAtweets, Mayor @CoreyOConnorPA, @PADCEDnews, and @PNCBank this morning to mark the adaptive reuse of 4 Smithfield St., Downtown. In our continued effort to collaborate with our community partners to diversify Pittsburgh's affordable housing portfolio, the HACP contributed $1.6 million in gap financing, and 16 Project-Based Vouchers to the project. The mostly vacant century-old, 12-story building housed a hotel in the 1800s, and later corporate offices. Once complete, Smithfield Lofts will house 46 units, 39 of them affordable, and some converted office space. Smithfield Lofts will feature efficiency, 1- & 2-BR units, a children's playroom, fitness room, bike storage room, & community room with kitchenette. The building design will also meet the National Green Building Standard-Silver-Rating. County Executive Sara Innamorato said it's important to invest in adaptive reuse projects to assist in revitalization and “create a thriving Downtown where people want to live." "I believe so strongly in our affordable housing ecosystem," she added. HACP Executive Director Caster D. Binion said the HACP is proud to invest in adaptive reuse projects to bring more affordable housing Downtown, particularly focusing on the city's workforce. It was an honor for PHFA Executive Director and CEO Robin Wiessmann to join @PennroseCompany and other partners last week to celebrate the opening of Good Shepherd, a 55-unit affordable housing development for seniors 62 and older in the city's Overbrook neighborhood.

Last week, we attended the 2026 PHFA Housing Forum, which brings together professionals from Pennsylvania's expansive housing industry to learn about trends, compare notes, and advance work in the field. John Bendel, FHLBank Senior Director of Community Investment, spoke on our partnership with @PHFAtweets and encouraged all attendees to connect with each other and lean into ideas and solutions to address critical affordable housing needs in Pennsylvania.
