Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (OPAPRU) of the Philippines, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Dato’ Astanah Abdul Aziz, Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for ASEAN Political-Security Community, at the ASEAN Headquarters/ASEAN Secretariat today. The two sides exchanged views on peace processes and reconciliation efforts, lessons learned and best practices in advancing inclusive and sustainable peace. They also discussed regional developments and issues related to the promotion of peace, stability, and cooperation in the region.

The Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN (CPR) and the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC) Ambassadors’ Council in Jakarta convened for their second meeting today at the ASEAN Headquarters/ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta.
During the meeting, both sides discussed the progress made in implementing the ASEAN-GCC Framework of Cooperation (FOC) 2024–2028. They also identified potential areas for cooperation between ASEAN and the GCC to further strengthen their relations.
