On Friday we went for a walk to the ridge and students found “sit spots” where they could quietly observe their surroundings. Students were encouraged to use their senses (except for taste!) and pay closer attention to details in the objects they chose to sketch.

Under Construction!! We are working on a building project in Science and I was impressed with students’ perseverance, creative thinking and problem solving!

Coach Tyler introduced us to the sport of Lacrosse and we loved it!

Today we started learning about measurement in Math and we used snap cubes to measure and compare various objects in the classroom.

We are excited to perform our play about the basic needs of animals tomorrow. Thank you to Evergreen Theatre for helping us with this project. Today we wrote about this experience.

Using pattern blocks to create our own shape creatures during Math. Students had to identify how many of each shape they used.

In Science, we were learning about the basic needs of animals, in preparation for our Residency with Evergreen Theatre next week!

We are learning about maps in Social Studies. Today we were challenged to draw a map of our classroom.

We took advantage of the weather today and went outside with our grade 5 buddies to do some building. This ties in with our Science unit on building things.
