Do you know bees are very important for our environment? We built a habitat for solitary bees today with the Teacher’s Pet in school field trip.

Once again students beat the teacher ( isn’t that the best feeling) and voted for outdoor picnic as their reward!

Emerging nature artists enjoyed the beautiful weather and sketched our tree.

In the Holistic Framework for learning, Spirit -To Be helps us know who we are . Grade Ones are learning about how their names, ancestors and celebrations make each one of us unique. We practised sharing our stories by building with loose parts. See if you can tell their story!

Ss won points against the teacher and we had a day with our stuffies at school. Today in math stuffies joined us for some non- standard measurement.

What an exciting day of problem solving, team work, and solving mysteries in escape rooms at school!

Ss enjoyed exploring Bee bots in class today! We made some wonderful mistakes as we started programming these bots, which led to discussions about how we need to give instructions so bots can follow them. It took a while to figure it out but we didn’t give up!

Eid Mubarak to all the families celebrating Eid !

Ss explored the attributes of 3D shapes today. We wondered why it was easy to build with some 3D shapes and figured out it had to do something with the base of the shape. We will continue exploring to answer more questions.

Working with Kit from Evergreen Theatre today we collaborated on creating a plot for our play. We are so excited and can’t wait to start acting it out!

Transparent objects let the light pass through and opaque objects do not let the light pass through. Ss explored transparent and opaque objects through testing with flashlights.
