Firefighters are currently battling a house fire near 31st Ave and Glendale Ave. There are no reported injuries at this time

Hazmat crews have secured a small chlorine leak at a wastewater treatment plant. At no time was the public at risk, and wastewater treatment operations were not affected. Command is working with personnel to safely transition operations back to plant management.

Firefighters are currently on the scene of a first alarm chlorine leak near 91st Ave. and Southern. The PIO is on the scene and will update as the incident progresses. A media staging location is currently being determined.

Firefighters made contact with the hiker approximately 1/2 mile from the trailhead. After some rest and hydration, the patient was able to walk down the mountain with the assistance of firefighters.

Firefighters are currently ascending the trail to make contact with the hiker.

Technical rescue members are preparing to bring ice bags for rapid cooling measures if needed by the hiker.

Firefighters are currently responding to the Echo Canyon Trailhead at Camelback Mountain for the reports of an overheated hiker. The PIO will update as the incident progresses.

AZ Task Force 1 deployed a 48-member Type 3 team to San Antonio as part of a FEMA surge ahead of major storms and potential flooding. The team left around 3 PM today and is expected to arrive tomorrow for a staging location- Duration will be determined by conditions on the ground

Firefighters have extinguish a house fire near 7th St and Southern Ave around 8 tonight. Crews quickly knocked down the flames preventing extension to an additional home. At this time the community assistance program is tending to a family of two that will be displaced.

The hiker has been safely extracted off the trail utilizing a “big wheel” operation.

Technical rescue teams are currently on the scene at the Echo Canyon Trailhead for the reports of an overheated hiker. The PIO will update as the incident progresses.

Firefighters are currently ascending the trail to locate the patient.

Rescue crews were able to safely extract the patient off of the mountain using Phoenix PD helicopter Firebird. The patient was then taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Command is utilizing Phoenix PD helicopter to insert rescue members 3/4 the way up the trail to make quicker access to the hiker

Technical rescue crews are on scene of camelback mountain for a second rescue for an overheated hiker. The PIO is on scene and will update.

Rescue crews were able to assist two adult male hikers off trail on their own power. All crews are down safe with no injuries reported
