Fernando is a great kid. Nothing is “off” about that.
FIRST ROUND MOCK@firstroundmock

Something is really “off” about Fernando Mendoza. I’m going to say this as respectfully as I can, he talks, moves and plays the position of quarterback like he’s a programmed robot. Whenever he talks, it sounds like he’s been coached to say everything he says. It doesn’t even sound like he believes what he’s saying. Whenever he moves around he looks stiff and awkward. And anything he encounters “outside the box” after the snap throws him for a loop during the course of a game. His completion percentage at Indiana fell off to 53.2% when he was required to move (ESPN) and 51.2% under pressure (PFF). He rigidly stands there in the pocket in shotgun formation and claps for the snap. And when he throws, his accuracy is completely dependent on him standing there glued to the spot where he caught the snap and then he has to take an additional moment to perfectly and mechanically align his upper and lower body with the trajectory of his throwing direction before he systematically releases the ball. He then repetitively keeps throwing the same 3-4 routes over and over and over and over again. He lacks spatial awareness (shows no natural feel for front or backside pressure he can’t see coming) and he’s a very linear thinker post snap. If his first or second pre-scripted “reads” aren’t there next to immediately, he visibly panics and defaults to running the ball, throws it away, gets sacked or “scrambles” and finds a wide open receiver. He also shows no ability to move or manipulate defenders with his eyes. Wherever he’s looking, that’s exactly the direction he’s throwing. *It’s all extremely robotic and unnatural.

Regarding Sullivan, the draft & a prospect having to fit some model or template: By no means is it absolute & it really is positionally-dependant Green Bay definitely has a model, some positions they are strict in sticking to it, some they consistently aren't Will write soon.

NEW THIS AM: Part 5 of #Dolphins Draft Dive takes a look at off-ball linebackers, one of this year's deeper positions With Hafley running a 4-2-5 most of the time, Miami seems fine ... unless Sullivan decides to move J. Brooks for draft capital More 👇🏽 acdolphins.com/2026/03/23/dra…

Ball player. I have really come to get to know @AquaCoralRep and fortunately he has taken the time to share some of his draft knowledge and insights with me. If you don’t follow his work, you should. Great work brother !!

As we approach the draft I am very open about the fact I am a novice at recognizing potential talent. I love the game of football and very much enjoy to watch and study the game. Young talent has never been my thing, I love finding a dawg and watching them grow into a great

FROM LAST NIGHT: Discovered a potential late-round gem it would be hard to believe #Dolphins GM Sullivan isn't already salivating over A Sun Belt LB with only a little bit of tape whose look & back story is TOTALLY Sonny Styles - & that isn't hyperbole acdolphins.com/2026/03/19/day…
