I (re)aligned DF's DLSS 5 shots, and while other screenshots fully match their original model, RE9 one doesn't. Looking at the background, we know it's not the same frame, but it looks like the pose is also slightly different, creating different facial characteristics (lips).

Anyone else notice an influx of AI generated "game guides" on Amazon? Feels like every new title has several of them. This one is my favorite

@ID_AA_Carmack Hmmmm, might be time to invest in spools of bare SM fiber

256 Tb/s data rates over 200 km distance have been demonstrated on single mode fiber optic, which works out to 32 GB of data in flight, “stored” in the fiber, with 32 TB/s bandwidth. Neural network inference and training can have deterministic weight reference patterns, so it is amusing to consider a system with no DRAM, and weights continuously streamed into an L2 cache by a recycling fiber loop. The modern equivalent of the ancient mercury echo tube memories. You would need to pipeline a bunch of them to implement modern trillion parameter models, but fiber transmission may have a better growth trajectory than DRAM does today, so it might someday become viable. Much more practically, you should be able to gang cheap flash memory together to provide almost any read bandwidth you require, as long as it is done a page at a time and pipelined well ahead. That should be viable for inference serving today if flash and accelerator vendors could agree on a high speed interface.

Update! The new Variable MPRT / Phosphor Decay Black Frame Insertion has been added to the RT4K CE in today's FW (1.9.9.4) release. I really think this one is a game changer for BFI, so it's important all models have this capability. Just wish 4K240 wasn't out of reach...

Testing a new BFI method on the RT4K Pro! So far, this has been my favorite: allowing for high motion clarity without losing brightness. And works well even at only 120 Hz. Visually, it resembles the "phosphor decay" of a CRT. Available on FW 1.9.9.3

Starlink is awesome for rural folk that have suffered with other crappy satellite providers or DSL, but idk why anybody would use this in an area with other options given Starlink’s abysmal upload speeds.
Sawyer Merritt@SawyerMerritt

NEWS: SpaceX has introduced a new cheaper $40 per month @Starlink plan in the U.S. with speeds up to 100 Mbps. The new "Residential 100 Mbps" plan incudes: • Upload speeds not limited • Unlimited data each month • $0 kit & free installation • 100 Mbps capped The new residential Starlink plan lineup in the US: • $40/month (capped at 100 Mbps) • $80/month (up to 250 Mbps speeds) • $120/month (400+ Mbps speeds) The new $40/month plan is currently only available in certain areas of the U.S. (photo of which areas it's available is in the thread below).

6G is bound to be faster, thus less need for more bandwidth efficient video. 🤔 Smells like xkcd.com/927/, but I'm curious about the energy efficiency gains compared to others. nokia.com/newsroom/nokia…
