Is there a brand of laptops sold in your country that might not be sold anywhere else?
We’re making a video on some more obscure laptop brands like Avita, which are mainly sold in India, or VIT, Venezuela’s state-sponsored computer manufacturer.
But we could use some help from some of y'all around the world to find some we might have missed...

Kafka is one of those few systems with pragmatic design choices. They sacrifice so called simplicity for performance.
In Apache Kafka, data is replicated across broker servers, where it is organized into topics and further divided into partitions.
When a consumer wants to stream data from a specific topic, such as "users" in this example, it connects to a broker, specifies the topic, and chooses a partition to read from.
The consumer is now "subscribed" to the topic, and Kafka reads the first position in the chosen partition and returns the position the client has read.
Behind the scenes, the consumer performs long polling on the broker to check for new entries to consume. Kafka never pushes data (something I really like)
Consumer groups enable a more distributed approach to reading a topic, independent of partitions, and ensure that no two consumers pull the same entry from a partition.
