@rorygeer @WillHNT @TuckerBrilli @helium A couple of mine had some activity. Not consistent yet. It looks like Helium released an update earlier for the manufacturers to push out to our devices. This should help get things running smoother, hopefully.

@ChrisVolkernick @WillHNT At that height i wouldn’t worry about overshooting. Overshooting becomes a thing when you’re very high up. Here’s one of mine with an 8dbi @ 10-11m and i’m on a hill.

@WillHNT what dbi / placement heights are you using? this is an 8dbi @ about 9-10m. Wondering if perhaps overshooting the others in the area. 🤔

The @helium blockchain seems to be running pretty smooth today. How's everyone's earnings today?

12.40% of the earning hotspots made more than 0.2 #HNT in the last 24 hours. Are you one of those?

@WillHNT @kcdjmaxx Same, I don’t have any but I want to build one..i still have a brand new MNTD sitting the the box. Would be nice to do an off grid.

@PJB617 @kcdjmaxx Yeah, absolutely agree. I currently don’t have any off grid units yet but I’m thinking of a few spots I could put them.

Need some input. I have a Rak hotspot diagnostic says it’s synced and peer to peer inbound and outbound is checked, port forward is opened but heliumtracker.io is saying offline, Hotspotty is also saying offline. I can’t get the listen address to update. Using DSL Ethernet

@WillHNT @kcdjmaxx I had to upgrade one of my RAK’s a few months back. It was pain having to take it down from the roof in the middle of winter. Mast was frozen to the mount, lol. It’s been solid ever since. No downtime.

@PJB617 @kcdjmaxx After the 64gb upgrade I haven’t had any issues with mine luckily. Not having to sync with the blockchain is going to be great!

@kcdjmaxx @WillHNT Yup, the SD cards were a point of failure that would eventually affect all hotspots sooner or later. This will make them a lot more reliable now.

@WillHNT @PJB617 Light hotspots will also help with the SD cards which are a point of weakness. The constant writing is tough on them.

@WillHNT @kcdjmaxx Yeah, should be fine with those speeds. As long as it’s stable you’re good. I was going to say the same, we might not even need as much bandwidth with light hotspots. At least there will be much less data usage for sure. Good news for the off grid setups.

@PJB617 @kcdjmaxx Im hoping with light hotspots coming it will work better since we won't have to use much data.

@WillHNT @kcdjmaxx How slow? I set one up not long ago on DSL with 5mb/1mb for about a week. It worked but ended up upgrading to cable 300mb plan. My first hotspot was on 9mb/6mb for months and it work fine, no issues. As long as its stable.

@kcdjmaxx Appreciate the advice. I seem to have gotten it to work. Had to remove the external router and just open up port forwarding in the modem. Internet is really slow so currently seeing if that’s effecting it.

@stefz1980 Personally, i would lower the solar panels down towards the ground. Being up that high is creating a high wind load and making it top very heavy.
