The government taxes the farmer. Taxes the fuel. Taxes the truck. Taxes the warehouse. Taxes the store. Then acts shocked when food costs more. Canada shouldn't be struggling to feed itself.

Something is deeply broken when seniors are spending their retirement in tents and coffee shops. One senior says they can't find a room under $1,500 a month. Another is living outside without basic privacy or the ability to bathe. In B.C., 94% of seniors on the affordable housing waitlist didn't get a space last year. After a lifetime of working and paying taxes, this is how some Canadians are spending their final years. At what point do we admit the cost of living crisis has become a humanitarian crisis?

My Health Care Economics Professor at UWO in London Ontario in the late 90's spoke to all of this.

Canada’s government is openly calculating how much money it can save through MAiD — Medically Assisted Dying. Investigations by @DonaldBestCA into official government websites reveal detailed cost projections for ending Canadian lives. At the same time, there are active pushes to expand MAiD to mentally ill and suicidal patients. This should alarm every Canadian. When the state starts measuring the “economic value” of human life and then expands the criteria for ending it, we are on a dangerous path. What are your thoughts?

"You maybe don't like the way the president says it." U.S. Ambassador Hoekstra says Trump's claim that America doesn't need anything from Canada is actually an invitation.

Here are headlines from the UK, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia. Simultaneously, they all want a social media ban. "To protect the children". Our governments aren't calling the shots; they're following orders. This is just one example. Every law passed happens in the exact same way in all for 4 countries. This cannot be possible unless each leader of each country works for the exact same people. Our leaders are not elected; they are installed. #UK #NewZealand #Canada #Austrailia

🚨 Doug Ford’s approval rating is now 21%. That’s the lowest of his entire time as Premier. A 10 point drop in just 3 months. He now sits dead last among Canadian premiers. Why? -$28.9 million private jet purchase (reversed only after the backlash) -Exempting himself & cabinet from FOI laws -Legal battle to keep his cell records private -$22 billion HST rebate that flows to investors -$285 million handed to TC Energy against IESO’s own advice -The Legislature closed until October 27 (five months of no Question Period) -71,300 Ontarians left the workforce in Q1 2026 -Toronto City Hall reselling tickets while the province fines individuals $25,000 for reselling Ford is done & the problem isn’t the messaging. He simply sucks.

Market bubbles peak at ~40% concentration... we are at 41% - 1970s Nifty Fifty: you can't own enough high-quality stocks - 1980s Japan: Japan will continue to dominate the world - 2000s tech bubble: the internet is the future - 2020s AI bubble: AI is the future Interestingly, it didn't matter whether you were right with your assumption during the tech bubble or wrong during the Japan bubble. In each case, you would have lost money. Lesson: no matter how tempting the story is, avoid peak concentration levels.
