If it makes you feel any better, I am 48 (!!!) and only just trying to make a start in game audio. Hoping for a 3rd career I trained online at Berklee in game audio & loved it!! Also learning C#, Unity 3D, VR, FMOD, Wwise ... never too late to change career & learn new skills.

As a genre, I feel Cyberpunk exists as retro-futurism. It's a continuation of what 80's culture thought the future would look like, and as such it is extremely referential to 80's imagery, without necessarily copying the xenophobic cultural commentary that it was steeped in.
