@ChiRuxinBGO HaHaHa… George McCaskey: 105–140 (.429). 25th in the NFL over 15 seasons. 1 playoff win in 15 years. (sell sell sell) Nice Family but this is a $10B project. Let Bezos , Pat Ryan and other Billionaires fund it privately.

It’s Arlington Heights and Hammond. Has been these two locations and only these two locations for a couple of months now. I’m still expecting Hammond to be the location, but as I keep saying, many others I have spoken to who are close to the matter still have AH as the favorite. Ball is still in Illinois’ court.

The Chicago Bears will decide where to build their new stadium in the next few weeks, per league sources. If Illinois doesn’t pass legislation for Arlington Heights soon, sources believe the Bears are likely to be Indiana bound. Two proposed sites in Chicago are not considered feasible, per sources; next to Soldier Field for political reasons, and the land known as Michael Reese was evaluated and rejected by the NFL and the Bears.

@AdamSchefter McCaskeys aren’t financiers. They aren’t real estate developers. That “$2B”? PSLs = fans paying upfront. Sell 10% of team + use NFL financing. Stop asking taxpayers for $800M + 40 years of tax breaks. Or sell sell sell !

@StephenSBrown28 @chicagobars The Bears and the NFL kicked in $200 mil towards the renovation of a stadium in which neither has an ownership stake. They want their own stadium, which is reasonable. Name me one stadium that was built with fewer asks of the public than what the Bears are asking.

It is unfathomable to the average Illinois voter how badly the Bears leadership are handling this negotiation for stadium project taxpayer support. Exhibit 67:

One example of why Bears stadium negotiations are complex … The team wanted the state to pay for parking garages, but be allowed to keep the parking revenue. “That’s a non-starter,” @SenatorLaura Murphy of Des Plaines said today. dailyherald.com/20260306/illin…

@DavidHaugh What truly matters is fiscal responsibility. Chicago and the State of Illinois do not need another taxpayer-backed stadium while still owing $500 million Bears say they will finance the stadium, it largely means season ticket holders paying upfront through PSL’s Sell the team

@georgeofman Chicago and the State of Illinois don’t need another taxpayer-backed stadium while still owing $500M or more in a saturated entertainment market. When the Bears say they will finance stadium it, it’s largely through season ticket holders paying upfront via PSLs. Sell the Team..

Is Kevin Warren in hot water? Told Bears owner George McCaskey is livid with his president and CEO for his handling of Thursday’s series of events. What a colossal mess this has turned out to be. That said, Arlington Heights is still very much in the picture.

@CalebIsHim The issue isn’t whether the Bears want a new stadium. It’s whether taxpayers should subsidize another massive entertainment venue in one of the most saturated markets in the country.

The news will come out in due time, but Kevin Warren’s mismanagement of basically everything regarding the new stadium is nothing short of shameful.

@thekapman @ChicagoBears The last Chicago Bears stadium deal left taxpayers owing $500 million. When McCaskey says the team will pay the $2 billion cost, it’s actually the Bears’ season ticket holders who will be paying the bill — about five times what they paid for the last PSL.

Breaking....While the @ChicagoBears are again talking with Illinois politicians the city of Portage, IN has sent the Bears an offer for a rent free, state of the art domed stadium that uses no public money. We should know where the Bears are headed fairly soon. Discussing now on @ESPN1000

@BN_Bears I think it’s tough time to find the financing for a 325 acre development and it’s approaching $8B Especially with interest rates at 5% and Inflation at 6% And Banks lending might tighten up .. Bears May have to Sit on it for a few years to see if conditions change ..
