New year, new goals. I don't know who needs to see this, but don't let anyone influence who you are and what you want. Stay true to yourself. I know I will.

@jshack444 @63grussell63 Well done for noticing! I was beginning to think that everyone was stupid, and if it weren't for you I'm sure all of us would keep living without finding the answer. What would the world be without your keen eye and intuitive understanding of those four rectangles?

The fact that F1 hasn’t even fixed the GIANT white rectangles that obscures the top middle of the broadcast FOUR RACES into the season is fucking mind blowing. Considering cancelling my subscription tbh and I’ve been a fan for YEARS.

@NotFifthGear People in this comment section clearly dont remember this becoming a meme from when someone said this about the zero sidepods on the merc in 2022. Can't y'all tell what satire is unless someone writes /s at the end?

@PolePositionist Or hear me out, go back to the 2025 power units. That way teams dont have to develop a new ice for 2027, and teams that dont already have a 2025 engine like Audi and caddilac and Aston Martin (due to the new contracts) can be customer teams. This, while new engine regs are coming

⚫🔋 F1 considering major shift away from 50/50 PU split for 2027! - F1 has begun early talks about scrapping the 50/50 engine-battery split for 2027, aiming to fix the problems with the current energy-starved cars. - Talks have already started about broader power unit changes — including both the ICE and battery — for as early as 2027. - F1 chiefs believe the current V6 + 4MJ battery can deliver enough performance, but the 50/50 split is limiting how the power unit can be used. - There is growing support for increasing ICE output (via fuel flow) and reducing battery power to improve drivability and allow drivers to push. - One proposal suggests a +150kW ICE / -150kW battery shift, moving from ~50/50 to ~75/25 — with a possible race allowance keeping 350kW deployment (~65/35) for overtaking. - Changes can’t happen for 2026 due to engine design and reliability constraints, which is why discussions are focused on 2027 and beyond. 🗞️ - @wearetherace

@ImNotBekim It's great news and I do hope more tracks like the ones you mentioned can make a comeback, but being realistic, it is no longer enough for F1 to simply be a great track. Tracks like Korea and Malaysia, even Kyalami have a hard time proving that they have the finance or glamour.

In Game of Thrones the main thing which persuaded Ned Stark of the treason of Cersei was the fact that Robert Baratheon’s children don’t have the famous Baratheon black hair. So naturally HBO gave Rhaenys, the daughter of Jocelyn Baratheon, silver hair…

Voyager 1 is running on ~70 KB of memory in deep space. In 2024, part of that memory failed after nearly 50 years. Engineers at NASA fixed it the only way they could: by deleting unused code, reorganizing what was left, and uploading a patch from 15 billion miles away. each step took 22 hours to reach the spacecraft. It’s still sending data today.

Tesla sold 4 million people a promise they can't keep. 4 MILLION people! In 2019 Tesla sold Full Self-Driving with one promise: the hardware in your car is ready. Software updates will unlock it. In 2026 that hardware can't run the software Tesla just launched in the Netherlands. Here's what HW3 owners got for their €6.400:

@Itsfoss While I myself don't use Raid for my homelab, I'd guess it's the same as with everything else: curiosity. Half the things in homelab world wouldn't exist if someone didn't think "you know what would be cool?"

I don’t see the point of RAID in a homelab. Feels like wasting disks. Why mirror drives when backups exist? No uptime pressure in a homelab setup. So what’s the real benefit here? Curious to hear your views from real homelab experiences 👇

@wearetherace If there are car manufacturers that value hybrid and electric cars more, then perhaps they should not consider F1, F1 doesn't need them. However, car manufacturers that develop sport cars with pure engines, that's the manufacturers that F1 should appeal for. Not fucks like BYD.

@wearetherace This season is proof that F1 shouldn't change to appeal to car manufacturers, car manufacturers should change to be worthy of F1. F1 has always driven innovation that later turned up in road cars, this shouldn't change. F1 should stick to developing racing first.

In GOT Season 4, Margaery Tyrell visits young King Tommen in his chamber. But reports say the original script planned a much more seductive version of the scene. Natalie Dormer reportedly felt uncomfortable with it — especially since Tommen’s actor, Dean-Charles Chapman, was only around 16 during filming. So the moment was rewritten and toned down for the final episode.
