@fan_tokens @ChrisOtt @FanTokens I know the account. My question is, why this is supposed to be a game changer? Socios was doing exactly what this one is trying: Promotion of Fan Tokens. What is different, apart from it's name?

It's a pity that no official apps or games came out after the last hackathon. I believe that advertising on X could help the most. Even auctions for jerseys and match balls, which in my opinion are great, could have a much bigger impact with strong and effective promotion.

@IncomeSharks Crypto attracts mostly people that care only about their own money and making more of it in short time, how is this space supposed to create something truly purpose driven? Crypto is 99% built on financial incentives.

Remember when this space use to be about taking down banks and competing with the credit card companies? This place needs a purpose again.

@falamnk Yes. Not enough cool stuff to do on the chain. Even traders prefer other chains for memes etc

@PLMKR10 It's not only they market problem. Chz kept failing to raise liquidity and attract fans after ftos waves until now. 📉 They literally have one job is to have more active sport fans or crypto, and they can't do it .

Despite all ups / downs of the market and all building over the years, $CHZ booked consecutive lower highs and now trades at $0.04 i.e. 95% <ATH. Yesterday, the sportschain, who signed most big football clubs, had 3k active addresses, 62k TXs and gas revenue of 8.3k $CHZ ($350)

@SteveTheRich You realize that two of the lower highs printed were caused by World Cup 2023 and Euro 2024 and both were not as significant as previous tournaments, right? Chiliz doesn't have the "Sport" narrative exclusively anymore and it shows.

@osska89 'It ain't over until the fad lady sings', however, certainly we all as creators, investors, users, builders, etc were hoping for more apps, adoption, traction, growth, fun. And certainly a better performance of $CHZ and Fan Tokens, so yeah it's kind of a pity. Maybe the US FTs..

If you look at $CHZ TVL *excl. staking*, the amount of capital locked in other dapps seems pretty stagnant $7m TVL is still 98% Kayen (liquidity pools) and total TVL (🔵) just follows $CHZ price development (🟡)

@Darth_Hodler And you consider $CHZ a top alt? Last monday, Feb 10th, the chain had 5000 $CHZ gas revenue, in today's prices that's $265 in daily gas revenue, compare this to other EVM chains ...

Still #120 CMC at $0.05, harsh reality that $CHZ still is not in the place that some people told you it would be at "next bull run"

@2001spaceody It was not just a deal, they acquired a stake into a FC Barcelona subsidiary, this is more, hence why I expected more.

@PLMKR10 I don't know how long the deal is for, but I would say they were too early. Perhaps football, or rather the current generation of supporters over 20 years old, isn't ready for Web3 yet?

Chiliz x Barcelona (original) $100m deal (restructured later) announced Aug 1, 2022 - Did anyone see any new product or feature or utility for either $BAR or $CHZ chain coming off of this major strategic acquisition for fans / users now 2.5 years later?

IMO, Fan Tokens did not work out as hoped yet i.e. did not find their way out of crypto communities into sports communities to make it a standalone business model. Guess that is in part why Chiliz communicated to pivot towards Chiliz / Crypto at some point. But in crypto, what is their unique edge? Apart from SportFi, they don't create new narratives, they rather try to follow them (AI, RWA, MEMES) in my view often too late.

@PLMKR10 Alex fumbled big time. The last straw for me was the meme launch. Dude went all over the world and signed every sports team he could get - to do exactly what? What was the concept? Lets sign as many teams as possible and figure it out later?

@TommyJoao57 Even if the SPAC with Mountain was not realized, which was rather a funding and organizational issue, they could still have worked on new features for $BAR

@PLMKR10 Barca may be difficult to deal with ... couldn't close the deal with Mountain to go public and advance the brand.

@Chiliz_Swiss As long as there are new announcements, most people don't care about follow up of past announcements. Convenient.
