@KentaroHokori @RandyGay15 I'm 99% sure the current rules do not allow you to do this. If you miss the trigger, then it gets added to the stack in the middle of the main phase. But I think you can only pay it using mana you would have had at the time it was supposed to trigger.

@RandyGay15 That’s actually cheating…. If this is the current ruling I’m so glad I’ve been retired from paper competitive events.

RCQ, a player forgot to pay for Pact, drew a card, played a land, spectator paused game, called a judge and ruling was pact trigger goes on stack in middle of main phase and can pay it. 👏You👏lose👏the👏game👏

@KentaroHokori @BrianDeMars1 the land thing is true, the rule should be catch the mistake in first main, revert any plays, pay the cost, resume play from there. the info thing doesn't really matter because knowing your next draw clearly wouldn't change whether you choose to pay for the pact or not

@PLeo04 @BrianDeMars1 The issue I have this is “the player was able to pay for the pact in the main phase after playing the land for the turn( additional mana) and some extra info( drawing card for the turn) instead.

@MaeTcg idk, but it feels a bit better than llanowar elves to me. it doesn't give you an extra mana on turn 2, but it's ramp is more permanent and you don't need to choose between mana and a body each turn

@McGrewer @InsaneCope the message of Christianity is that even if we are born into sin, anyone can still be redeemed. no one is beyond redemption. that is tolkiens point that ant is talking about

@InsaneCope "-he rejected the idea of anyone being born evil as a catholic" Literally the entire message of Christianity is that we are born into sin and fall short in judgement without accepting that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior and that he died for our sins.

@ReviewerRadical Things like "don't wear fabric of mixed fibers" is not some sort of moral proclamation that everyone is supposed to adhere to.

@ReviewerRadical It doesn't mean God changed his mind. Most commandments in the Old Testament are relevant to that historical moment, or are laws God gave specifically to the Israelites not general laws for everyone to follow.

1) I disagree with all abrahamic religions equally. 2) if the rules of the old testament don't apply, does that mean that an all powerful, all knowing God changd his mind about something?

@SaffronOlive the fact that they formatted it in a way where it can't be like pulled from eternity to stop it is frustrating. what even is the counter play to this?

@TheTrinketMage Folks you think "lying" is bad sportsmanship, but "bluffing" is fine are being disingenuous. They're the same thing, you can't condone one but not the other.

@AlexKleeman Hell, according to a lot of linguists, LLMs aren't even the right way to approach language, much less general intelligence. Granted that's coming from formal linguists. As a cog sci person you might be less harsh on LLMs on that front.

LLMs have been around for decades, I was in cog sci and nobody thought they were a pathway to general intelligence. The fact that they are being passed off as that right now is straightforward fraud.
Merryn Somerset Webb@MerrynSW

What if the whole LLM thing is a false start? If the flaws are inherent systemic problems - if the compounding of hallucinations/errors can't be sorted out? If the capex build out is one of the biggest misallocations of capital ever? Then what? bloomberg.com/news/newslette…

Seems like a pretty solid land cycle for Commander. Basically slowlands, but with the basic land types.

@who_shot_jgr The whole game industry has been built around constantly increasing fidelity for decades. But we're getting closer to the ceiling of how much fidelity you can get on a consumer machine by just using bigger numbers. This is just a gimmick Nvidea thinks will move more processors.

@who_shot_jgr They're just both not very good. Throwing higher resolution/polycount at a game is basically just building more bigger highways, it sort works but not well for the amount of investment. And this is a gadgetbahn. (What a regular train is in this metaphor I'm not sure)

@who_shot_jgr I agree it's stupid and unnecessary. I just wanted to point out that it's not any more compute heavy that modern AAA graphics already are.

@PLeo04 that's frustrating because then comes the second part, why not let the artists invent the extra detail i know i'm rehashing everything but this thing makes me real mad

@who_shot_jgr The model training process is very compute intensive. But once trained inferencing is less demanding. This is also working off of an already fully formed image and just inventing extra detail, which should in theory be less compute hungry than generating an image from scratch.

isn't the defining feature of AI that it uses quite a lot more computing power to do tasks which a human would have a hard time defining in computer terms but would otherwise be very simple for a computer to solve
