The values of ice lost from Himalayan glaciers from 2000 to 2020 were, on average, underestimated by 6.5%. These glaciers feed the rivers that run through the region, including the Mekong, Yangtze, and Yellow River, providing water for millions of people.

George is named after George Dawson, one of Canada's greatest scientists. Dawson is the geologist whose work is credited as having laid the foundations of much of our knowledge of the geology and natural history of Canada's north and west.
