Sensational headline. But here’s the truth👇🏽 Under the #RenewedHopeAgenda, we’re cleaning up the courier space—working with @ndlea_nigeria, @PoliceNG, @nipostngn & transport unions to stop abuse of logistics networks. Real reform is happening. Nigeria deserves better journalism than this. #NIPOST #LogisticsReform #SayNoToDrugTrafficking #PublicSectorReform #Nigeria

NIPOST Partners with NACA to Strengthen National Health Logistics I’m pleased to announce a strategic collaboration between the Nigerian Postal Service (@NipostNgn ) and the National Agency for the Control of AIDS (@NACANigeria ) under the National Integrated Specimen Referral Network (NiRSN) and the RSSH II intervention program. Under the leadership of NACA’s Director-General, @drtemitopeilori , this partnership recognizes NIPOST as a vital national logistics infrastructure in the healthcare delivery chain, particularly for the safe, efficient transport of biological specimens. The project will begin with a 6-month pilot phase in Taraba and Abia States, featuring: Infrastructure upgrades at 10 NIPOST locations Capacity building and staff training on biological sample handling and transport Specimen collection and delivery from health facilities to hub and testing laboratories This initiative is designed to enhance diagnostics, support disease control efforts, and improve healthcare outcomes, especially in hard-to-reach areas. Upon successful implementation, it will scale up to cover all 36 states and the FCT. This marks another step forward in repositioning NIPOST as a development partner across sectors, delivering not just mail, but meaningful impact.

As part of Nigeria’s continued commitment to global postal transformation, I held a high-level bilateral meeting with the Director General of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) on the sidelines of the Postal Leaders Forum in Nairobi, Kenya. This engagement was centered on deepening Nigeria’s strategic alignment with evolving global postal development priorities — ensuring that NIPOST not only adapts to change, but leads it. Key areas of focus during our discussions included: Enhancing last-mile delivery through investment in modern logistics infrastructure. Accelerating digital addressing and identity verification systems to increase accessibility and efficiency. Expanding Nigeria’s participation in cross-border e-commerce, leveraging our geographic and economic strength. Modernizing postal operations, including state-of-the-art sorting and automation technologies. A critical highlight of the meeting was the discussion around upgrading the NIPOST Training School into a UPU-recognized Centre of Excellence for West Africa, a move that would position Nigeria as a regional hub for postal capacity building and innovation. I also reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment, through NIPOST, to the Operational Readiness for E-commerce (ORE)regional projects. As a founding participant, we continue to play a pivotal role, hosting strategic workshops, and serving as the proud headquarters of the West African Postal Conference (WAPCO). In a welcome development, the UPU Director General acknowledged Nigeria’s recent strides in financial compliance. After clearing a 5-year backlog of obligations, Nigeria has now been removed from the sanctioned list and reintegrated onto the IFS (International Financial System) remittance platform, following a ban that had been in place since 2012. This marks a significant turning point in restoring trust, credibility, and international cooperation. @NipostNgn remains fully committed to repositioning the Nigerian postal system as a driver of inclusive economic growth, digital transformation, and regional integration. We are not just catching up — we are charting a new course.

NIPOST at the Brink of a New Dawn The Nigerian Postal Service (@NipostNgn ) is undergoing a transformative shift, one driven by necessity, shaped by strategic foresight, and anchored in accountability. Following our recently concluded Leadership Workshop in Abuja, I am pleased to formally announce a new era for NIPOST. Strategic Reforms: A Clear Path Forward Our renewed direction is guided by tangible reforms and measurable outcomes: Cashless Operations Begin July 1, 2025 As part of our modernization agenda, all post offices nationwide will cease accepting cash. Customers will transact using approved electronic payment channels. This move enhances security, transparency, and aligns with global best practices. Performance-Driven Culture We are introducing a reward and recognition system to promote excellence across our workforce. Simultaneously, we will enforce strict disciplinary measures to address any conduct that undermines public trust or institutional integrity. Clarifying Stamp Duty Misconceptions NIPOST does not collect stamp duties. Our role is to provide postage stamps, the legal instruments used to authenticate documents and denote duty payment. The responsibility for collecting stamp duties lies solely with the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS). Stakeholder Engagement as a Priority We are strengthening our feedback and engagement channels to ensure that the voices of Nigerians guide our evolution. Transparency and open communication will be a cornerstone of the new NIPOST. Acknowledging Transformational Leadership This reform agenda would not be possible without the unwavering support of our Honourable Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, @bosuntijani His belief in innovation and institutional reform continues to inspire our efforts. I also wish to commend the Chairman of our Governing Board, Barrister Isaac Kekemeke @LekeLeke4Gov , whose vision, “Change of Renewed Hope Berths at NIPOST Shores”, has served as our compass. His strategic oversight and passion for public service have been invaluable in driving these bold reforms. Building a Future-Ready NIPOST NIPOST is embracing the future with clarity and courage. We are becoming a technology-enabled, citizen-focused institution, one that is responsive to the demands of a fast-evolving digital economy. We are not just rebranding. We are rebuilding. This is our pledge:  To connect Nigeria, deliver lasting solutions, and improve the lives of every citizen we serve. Tola Odeyemi Postmaster General / CEO Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) #PMGOdeyemi

I was honoured to speak at the maiden edition of #ThePlatformAfrica, under the Public Service/Government category. This wasn’t just a speaking engagement — it was a chance to boldly share why I chose public service, what fuels my commitment daily, and the real lessons I’ve learned from serving not just in government, but for the people. I’m grateful to @CovenantCCentre and the ever-intentional visionary, @pastorpoju, for curating such a timely, strategic platform for African voices and leadership. The launch of The Platform Africa couldn’t have come at a better time. My deepest appreciation goes to my supervising Minister, @bosuntijani, whose leadership continues to challenge and inspire. And above all, I thank the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, H.E. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR(@officialABAT), for the opportunity to serve in this administration at such a pivotal moment in our nation’s journey. Nigeria is rising , and I’m proud to be among the generation shaping that ascent. 📹 The full video of my session is attached, I hope it inspires someone out there to step up and serve. #ThePlatformAfrica #PublicService

Strong Governance. Smart Risk. Sustainable Reform. I recently had the honour of joining esteemed colleagues at the MOFI Corporate Governance Forum 2025, where we collectively reflected on what it truly means to lead public institutions with integrity and intention. As the MOFI Corporate Governance Scorecard was unveiled, I had the opportunity to contribute to a meaningful conversation on how strategic oversight, transparency, and risk management are no longer optional, they are essential. At NIPOST, we’ve taken this to heart. Governance and risk management aren’t just formalities on paper, they are now foundational to how we serve the Nigerian people. Here’s how we’re making that real: We’ve established a dedicated Risk & Compliance Department, aligning risk ownership with our operational strategy. We are digitizing integrity — ensuring processes from procurement to parcel delivery are transparent, traceable, and trustworthy. We’ve restructured our customer experience governance, ensuring real-time feedback informs real decisions. We are building a culture where governance is not distant, it’s felt in the clarity of our prices, the speed of our service, and the consistency of our delivery. As I shared during the panel: “Governance isn’t a document. It’s a daily discipline. When embedded in decision-making, it becomes a catalyst, not a constraint.” This is not just a reform. It’s a redefinition of public service and on this journey, your feedback is very important to us, kindly do not hesitate to continually share it with us. We’re building an institution where trust is earned by design, and where systems are strong enough to outlast individuals, but still human enough to serve every Nigerian with dignity.
