...that there are basically 2 types of people: 1.) those who have One Big Idea, which they see as the answer to everything, and 2.) those who see a world with lots of separate problems requiring separate solutions. Where's that from? Who said that?

Hive mind: I'm trying to find the origin of a quote, but I can only remember the broad sentiment, none of the exact words (which means I can't google it). If you help me find it, you can prevent the sell-off of Our NHS, and the concreting over of Our Greenbelt. Somebody once said

Just over 5 million, not “15 million”; 0.06% of the world’s pop; about the level of the 56-58 flu season; deaths per capita from cardiovascular, cancers, respiratory, dementia and digestive diseases are all worse.

Confident that linking my Medicare to MyGov to prove I've been vaxxed is more difficult than inventing the vaccine itself

Despite what many of Adam’s correspondents seem to think, studies report the viral load of infected vaccinated persons is the same as infected unvaccinated persons. Vaccines work not to stop transmission or infection but to boost the immune system to fight infection.
Adam Creighton@Adam_Creighton

Ok dumb question from a non "expert": if vaccines don't stop transmission, as increasingly clear, what is argument for mandatory vaccination to "save others"? 🤔 Just make up your own mind? 😬

My latest article from Quadrant magazine, on the subject Australia’s high housing prices. The culprits? High property taxes and low building industry productivity.

@DavidAFrench @whignewtons David (& Sarah). I love your podcast. It’s my favourite. Just brilliant. But the comment on U of Chicago’s Committee on Social Thought was way, way off base. That great institution housed Leo Strauss, Hannah Arendt, Allan Bloom, Saul Bellow, Friedrich Hayek, etc.

“I had a patient” is not a measure of a mass phenomenon. It’s an anecdote.

That non-viable RNA triggers PCR tests should remind us (once again!) of how unreliable and hyped PCR tests are. Not to forget that asymptotic persons carry a low viral load and have a short infection window, also reminding us how flimsy the notion of a COVID “case” is.

“There were no positive tests amongst 1,174 close contacts of asymptomatic cases.” Read it. Ever since the first transmission studies coming out of China in March, the story has been uniform: transmission occurs under highly circumscribed circumstances.

“Another way of saying that is that the spiritual descendants of Bill Buckley and Milton Friedman are on one side of the table while the epigones of Robert Taft are on the other... Somebody is going to have to go.” History repeats, and repeats. GOP wars. nationalreview.com/the-tuesday/th…
