There needs to be an independent investigation into the Irish revenue and how it treats selective companies. This makes a mockery of the single market and competition law. It truly looks as if our political class are captured and fail to do their basic duty and hold these offices to account.

You cannot have hybrid employment status, you cannot be employee for Social Protection purposes yet self employed for Revenue purposes. The SC in Karshan was very specific on this issue, and specifically noted that one side of the state’s reasoning was not before the Court

The poultry VAT fraud 1000% over claim involved hundreds of millions in carousel-style scams with false invoicing and selective advantages for favoured players. Authorities knew, yet it persisted for decades, undermining honest businesses and EU competition rules. @PP53Ir I don't know. But ultimately the taxpayer does. RTE cannot keep illgotten gains, it's that simple. One way or another it has to pay all that it owes or else it is state sanctioned financial gain other national broadcasters don't nor can't have.
