This week, PPP alumni and graduating seniors gathered for an evening of networking and conversation about life after graduation. From career advice to shared experiences, the event highlighted the strength of the PPP community and the connections that continue beyond the program.

PPP students brought their policy work to Washington, DC this week, meeting with congressional offices and organizations to present research, ask big questions, and see their classroom learning in action. A huge thanks to all those who made this invaluable experience possible!

Last Tuesday, our Power & Politics sophomores kept a beloved tradition alive—the Election Night Broadcast! Students reported live from the Ham. Co. Board of Elections & City Hall, sharing data, interviews, and insights as results rolled in! 🎥

Last Thursday, Xavier hosted the mayoral debate between incumbent Aftab Pureval and challenger Cory Bowman! Before the debate, PPP students joined President Hanycz and Professors Mariani and Robiadek for a Pre-Debate Reception discussing key local issues in Cincinnati!

A group of students mostly comprised of our very own PPPers went on a trip to Berlin this past summer with Professors Brownlee and Dianda. Students had the chance to take either “Germany in the 20th Century” or “Philosophy of Art”. Everyone had a great time!

Congratulations to the PPP Class of 2025 on graduating from Xavier! We kicked off the weekend with our Cording Ceremony, where students, families, and faculty came together to celebrate and reflect. We’re so proud of the Class of 2025 and all they’ve achieved!💙🎉

PPP Sophomores in the Civil Society and Government track presented their legislation to State Representative Karen Brownlee yesterday!

To continue to honor Brigid’s life and legacy, we ask you to consider donating to the Brigid Kelly Scholarship, which supports students who demonstrate promise as a future public leader based on their academic record and history of campus and community engagement.

In honor of Brigid Kelly (’05), Ohio will rename the Norwood Lateral the “Brigid Kelly Norwood Lateral.” We are touched by the tribute to Brigid’s life as a true public servant. The dedication will take place tomorrow, May 1, at 1:30pm at the Hamilton County Board of Elections.

On Thursday, we gathered for PPP’s annual Spring Cookout. We enjoyed some great food and company! We celebrated Dr. Brownlee as he wraps up his last year as PPP Director, and Seniors, who joined us for their final cookout. Thanks to everyone who made the event a success!

Congratulations to PPP Sophomore Carolyn Isaly for receiving the inaugural Brigid Kelly Public Service Scholarship! The scholarship supports students who demonstrate promise as future public leaders. We are immensely grateful that Brigid’s legacy of public service lives on.

PPP Seniors Alyssa Blandford, Katie Sanchez, and Ben Kramer were inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honors Society over the weekend. Phi Beta Kappa is the oldest and most prestigious honors society in the United States, and we congratulate them on this impressive accomplishment!
