🇺🇸 The March #FOMC confirmed a cautious Fed. Rates were left unchanged at 3.50%–3.75% for the second consecutive meeting (11–1 vote), while updated projections point to a very gradual path forward, with limited cuts expected only between 2026 and 2027. At the same time, the inflation outlook remains elevated. February PPI came in at +0.7% m/m, above expectations, and the Fed revised its 2026 PCE forecast up to ~2.7%, still above target. Powell also highlighted a key external risk: rising energy prices linked to Middle East tensions, which could add further pressure on inflation. Overall, the message is clear. No pivot, no urgency to cut. Policy remains strictly data-dependent.

After a sharp repricing earlier in the cycle, positioning reset and risk appetite recalibrated. What followed was not capitulation, but gradual supply redistribution, mainly from long-term holders monetizing past accumulation. Does this mean the long-term thesis is weakening? Not quite. It suggests that, in the current regime, Bitcoin is no longer the asset with the highest marginal return for global capital. When alternative assets offer clearer short-term payoff or stronger narratives, capital rotates. That’s how cycles work. Are derivatives suppressing price? They shape volatility at the margin, but the persistence and scale of this range are consistent with spot-driven flows, not leverage constraints. ETF data reinforces this: selling pressure remains largely internal to crypto, not imposed from outside. Are macro tailwinds finally turning supportive? Yes, conditions are gradually shifting. Looser policy and more expansionary fiscal stances matter, but as context, not as immediate catalysts. Liquidity doesn’t flip switches; it amplifies what’s already underway. Does Bitcoin react to a single driver at a time? Rarely. Its behavior reflects market regimes, not isolated inputs. And what regime are we in now? One of digestion and balance. Capital is being absorbed, not rushed. When that regime changes, the signal won’t be subtle. Price will adjust first, the narrative will catch up later.

Bear market fears are the recurring theme this cycle. But Bitcoin might be building one of the most powerful continuation patterns in classical charting. It’s called Three Rising Valleys: a setup that historically precedes major breakouts. The structure: three higher lows (V1–V3), showing rising demand and accumulation. When price closes above the confirmation line, the average historical rise is +41% in bull markets, with only a 5% failure rate (source: Thomas N. Bulkowski, Encyclopedia of Chart Patterns). Typically, 60% of these patterns retest the breakout before continuation, so patience pays. Bitcoin now sits right in the third valley. Whether or not we swipe the ~100k-ish lows again, the outlook is bullish. If history rhymes, the next expansion leg could be closer than it seems.
